Alberta Canada Ghost Unknown Prank: BF?

Youtube vid pranked by a Canadian guy in IR reflective gear and night vision goggles that was presented as

an unknown on trailcam but the guy knowingly faked the encounter then calling it a fake ghost story at the end.  Very interesting comments and analysis makes it a learning opportunity for hoaxing tech 101. If you want to lose the jeeping and sight seeing scroll into   20.5  minutes.  Don't forget to read the COMMENTS on Youtube channel, very informative. 

 

Would love to get @Catmandoo 's reaction to the vid and comments and the creativity factor.  

 

I was pretty impressed with the effects.

The ghost sort of had the appearance of the glowing eyed Sand people in Star Wars.

I am not a jeep guy. I am not a ghost guy. I was suspicious from the beginning when I did not hear "are we there yet?" Jeeps appear to be newer units as I did not see a smoke trail from the evil rear main oil seal leak phenomena of the past. Their camera action is very stable. The ghost episode sucks. Data bands are not shown. I am guessing it is composite imagery. An inexpensive trail cam would have picked up more detail of the costume outline but the opacity was adjusted for a spooky transparent look. Fail. No need to call the Ghostbusters.

Notes to self: always allow another vehicle to drive through water first so they can find the deep locations and sinkholes and to scare unarmed persons just walk around with  2 flashlights that emit red light.

I have to say the scenery was grand and the guys mention of the Jasper fires broke my heart having been through there ten years or so ago. 

 

Being upset about somebody not dousing their campfire is sop for me.  Got a little Smoky TB dna in me I guess.

Jeep currently has one model. They are owned by Stellantis, which is European. Stellantis, like other companies, does not get along with the United Auto Workers union. I would bank on them to leave the US. Jeep owners should start hording parts. Older Jeeps have mixed reviews.

Apple pie is over rated. Go for a berry pie. You forgot baseball. I forget baseball all the time because it is a legal monopoly.

 

Back to the thread. The Rubicon has the optional extra wires on the front outboard positions to cut brush. Nice touch for those very off road bushy areas. I did not see any ducks on those Jeeps and I thought ducks are mandatory accessories.

It's scary how on point your jeep lore is. But you forgot the Pentastar Tick when the hydraulic lifters break causing terminal tick, valves get stuck closed, the cam follower becomes fouled, the cam lobe becomes scored, the cam bearings, of which there are none surprise the cam bearings are the head surface, wear and you lose your top end. Or the bad oil pump design, or the bad oil pressure sensor design. I know this is generally a Chrysler problem, but... Jeep was Chrysler until a few years ago.

 

Anywho, the video is interesting but has all the hallmarks of a hoax. The first clue for me is that it features a ghost.

Hahaha, didn't know I started a controversial jeep thread along with a Caspar the Friendly Ghost thread all in/on a BF discussion thread. 

 

I will have to try harder!   Love the jeep weaknesses, never owned one because I heard all about them, but I did fall for the old

Isuzu Trooper II weaknesses (heads burn up and warp easily).  Live and learn.

 The video post states that the ghost is hoaxed. However, ghost-like activity is posted in the paranormal section.

I will go back to the sandbox, sending stuff to the vid or paranormal section is usually the kiss of death for discussion--case in point the small town monsters lake tahoe bf vid--

--so I believe the faux pas was intentional as my part in the endeavor.  Still enjoyed the comments section of the Youtube rumble it had everything but conspiracy theory.
