FelixTheCat Posted March 2 Posted March 2 Not shelters in my opinion but created for another purpose. Perhaps as a simple way of showing how many of their kind are in a particular location. Any thoughts?
bipedalist Posted March 5 BFF Patron Posted March 5 Maybe they are created to flush out the knowers and researchers! Sort of like bf Tonka toys.

Maybe, but I've been thinking about it, and if you believe that the forest people create these structures, then the meaning of these structures is not important to us humans. They have a meaning important to the forest people. But the placement of these structures is of the utmost importance. They are not placed in their inner sanctum, or more secret living space. These three structures were all placed near a road or the edge of a forest. They are to let other like beings know that this is where they can be found. It would make absolutely no sense to place these structures where these beings spend most of their time. Secrecy is key to their intellect / survival instinct in my opinion, and placing these structures at their home base would be counter to their ability to hide.
bipedalist Posted March 6 BFF Patron Posted March 6 I tend to think they are calling cards, and sometimes they are calling certain preselected humans at predetermined locations that they (and us) frequent. I have had much experience with these structures at a local level too. There is no reason that they could not serve multiple purposes depending upon what is being crafted. I have seen perseverative patterning and geometry in narrowly confined mountainous drainages in the Blue Ridge. 1

Right, if you think all they are capable of is lean-to's and teepees you have missed their messages that are sometimes difficult to see (sometimes next to impossible). It will test your tracking and observational skills to the nth degree. If you are uber familiar with a section of real estate it can make it much easier. The manipulations that occur between dusk and dawn-- if you are close enough to investigate-- can be very eye opening. Sure I have engaged in fort building before the woodscraft and survival shelters were but a figment, grew up in the age of the early USAF survival manuals from the 50's. My adventures included ground excavations and tree forts mostly. 1

wiiawiwb Posted Friday at 10:56 AM Posted Friday at 10:56 AM I've never been moved by the tree-structure aspect of sasquatching. Maybe I should but it seems that a determined person, or persons, could erect many of what we see offered as evidence. 1
