pretty sure Norse is on board with the government knowing. not just individuals.

The agencies that watch our border like a hawk? They have to know. Border Patrol and Coast Guard. Thermals do not lie.

Our own military around military installations? How many Army helicopter flights go in and out of Ft. Lewis every year? How many are at night when these guys are using night vision and FLIR to fly terrain flying? How many clear cuts and roads and fields and meadows do they fly over?

USFS and USFW and state wildlife agencies and biologists? How many camera traps are out there? I know they detect anomalies because sometimes they get leaked to the public. (The Eagle cam is what I am thinking of right now)

Law enforcement? I have a buddy that was National Air guard for Washington state. He flew on a twin engine FLIR plane that was used to track the green river killer. He watched as he pulled over on a country road and got out to urinate. They are flying so high and in cloud cover the guy had no idea he was being watched. This was 20 years ago! Every federal, state and local law enforcement agency has surveillance in cases they are working.

I don’t know if it’s a collective suppression of evidence. I cannot say. But where ever this data gets filed away too? Whomever are they gate keepers? They absolutely know! Does the boots on the ground park ranger know?🤷‍♂️

Foreign countries got brought up. I know the CCP had an official search going. But I would take everything they say with a grain of salt. And I have no idea of the validity of the claims coming from there.

This is pretty much exactly what I took your agreement to mean.

No.  I second to MIB's position - the occasional park ranger, Border Patrol officer, or Soldier on maneuvers has seen one and knows that Bigfoot exists, but even if reported, that information doesn't go very far up the bureaucratic food chain.

This seems to be a hot topic in the Bigfoot world.   The answer depends on what people think of as "The Government"

You can predict the answer to your Q when you know some other perspectives on what people think about other topics involving the government.

The answer is:   NO     The government doesn't care.   If they had proof of Bigfoot's existence parts of the government would awaken and care only to the extent of their boundaries and mission.  For instance, the IRS would still care ZERO while the DNR might create parameters on forbidden hunting.  Local sheriffs might have concerns of safety.   Biology researchers might concern themselves about what makes a Bigfoot tick.   Maybe military contractors try to lean how Bigfoot is so stealthy.

Remember that old CIA saying:   Two people can keep a secret if one of them is dead.

There is no Bigfoot secret.  Bigfoot either exist or it does not.  if so, some parts of our government either know or don't know or care.  If they know, why would that part of government keep it quiet or feel the need to?

You seem to be making several contradictions?

You quoted NorCal asking if the government knows about Bigfoots existence. You answered no. And then proceed to say the government doesn’t care. Which is implying they do know about its existence?

And then later you again say the government DOES know about Bigfoot OR doesn’t care?

None of these statements are “No, the government does NOT know they exist”.

So? Full circle using logic and reasoning? (Paraphrasing you) There is no Bigfoot secret. But they know about Bigfoot or don’t care.

My answer: AND YET THEY CONTINUE TO DENY ITS EXISTENCE AND ACTIVELY SEEK TO BELITTLE WITNESSES!!!

April fools joke by the government:

https://www.usda.gov/about-usda/news/blog/loss-space-threatening-north-american-sasquatch

It’s obvious they know about Bigfoot. It’s on their website as a joke!  As for why? Why did they operate Project Bluebook? That simply was used to discredit UFO witnesses and give mundane explanations as to what the phenomenon was? Swamp gas? Jupiter? The northern lights? Light houses?

We now know that all of that was baloney and the government now admits UFOs are real.

My best guess is that the government never wants to admit that it’s not in CONTROL. They didn’t want to admit that something alien was operating in their airspace at will. And they don’t want to admit that there is a semi intelligent ape man living on Federal lands. Not to mention missing persons associated with both phenomenon!

What ever the reason is? It’s NOT good enough. And we as citizens should demand to know the TRUTH! And short of that? Go get the PROOF ourselves!

I took it as the government doesn’t know because they don’t care. If they actually cared, they’d know about it.

Then ended by saying they can either know, don’t know or don’t care. If they do know, it wouldn’t be hidden because it would be too important to varying agencies to do so. So there is no government conspiracy about hiding the existence of Bigfoot.

it doesn’t come across as contradictory at all. It seems fair to make the distinction of people within the government, vs departments of government vs the government as an entire entity.

Does John Doe with border patrol know due to his own encounter? Highly likely. Does John’s direct boss know? Probably. Does everyone within Congress know and actively choose to suppress the information to every single department unanimously with any dissenters at all? Not likely.

It's completely straight forward.  The government doesn't care.

The government is not some single entity unified in its thinking.   They are more dysfunctional than a family planning a thanksgiving dinner.  Our government alone (and don't forget about Canada) is made up of 1,000,000s of people with 100,000s of agendas.   Their job responsibilities are 1000's of different roles and agenda.  At thanksgiving, not everyone likes grandmas stuffing and that's just 12 people at the table to please.    How are 100,000s of employees and 100s of departments all going under the same dogsled with one whip?  It would be possible some small part of our government might be concerned about some issue (crashed SR 71, Trinity Atomic Bomb explosion, and so on) and try to keep it a secret.  But that would be a small SEGMENT of our government.

Even IF someone shot and killed Bigfoot the news would spread faster than the ability of the Bigfoot CIA to shut the information down.

Finally, any bigfoot interest occurs in the population of science consensus and public opinion in general

This is crazy! Ghosts, aliens, and ancient civilizations I get. But fortune tellers and telekinesis coming ahead of Bigfoot belief is absolutely wild.

The government doesn't care because the problem has been eliminated.  See the movie, "The Man who Killed Hitler ... and Bigfoot," with Sam Elliot.  I watched that movie with an ample supply of beer and still expected to turn it off an hour into it.  The movie was surprisingly good.

This is the issue:  The purposed conspiracy is the essential ingredient for the government to keep Bigfoot quiet.    The conspiracy requires this efficient, effective government to 1) know Bigfoot exists 2) suppress 3) and have a severe reason why this suppression is necessary.

Whatever this severe reason for secrecy is said to be, I can't understand how this government (who I am told all thinks alike!) has all this power and yet keeps screwing up.   This powerful thinking in unison government allowed the PGF out for public viewing all over the country.  I don't understand how Jeff Meldrum, Bill Munns, Anna Nikaris, and so on ever were allowed to speak-not just once- but multiple times.  Heck Gimlin talks all over the country and no one even stops him.

Here is the deal. There are times some things are vital to the government and a secret must be kept.  Even with the Manhatton project (Trinity Atomic Bomb) Stalin knew because he had spies:

Yeah, I’m fully on board with you. I believe a government coverup is essentially impossible. Especially a unified one across the world. Someone would have leveraged this knowledge for their own gain by now.

If they don’t care? Then why do they run disinformation campaigns?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disinformation

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Blue_Book

How did they do it with UFOs? Is if you talk about it as a government employee or a private employee under government oversight (like the FAA)?

YOU LOSE YOUR JOB. And your pension. And they ridicule you.

If you’re a private citizen? They either threaten you or they ridicule you.

So how can you still say they cannot do it? When they DID do it?! For 75 years! 🤷‍♂️

Are they lying about Bigfoot? Are their lips moving? But they sure have funny April’s fools jokes!

Two big problems I see with this Bigfoot item. First, it's asked in the context of a paranormal scale, implying that you accept a definition of Bigfoot as paranormal if you agree with the statement.  Second, the wording is ambiguous-- is the item saying Bigfoot is a singular creature or a undiscovered species? It's not clear, but to the first point, since its wrapped in a paranormal belief scale the implication is that the item is referring to a singular creature. So if you believe --or even think that it's plausible--  that bigfoot are an undiscovered species and by no means paranormal, you'll probably select a neutral response or disagree. I honestly don't know what that 16% really believes.

Fair. I totally glossed over that paranormal part. But in rebuttal, I don’t believe ancient civilizations or aliens fall under the paranormal so the entire thing is pretty misleading with such a title.
