Published in (among others) the Buffalo (NY) Daily Republic on July 16, 1869.

UPDATE December 2025: This story is included in Bigfoot Encounters in New York and New England by the Bartholomew brothers; however, the book identifies the two towns where encounters occurred as Woodhill (it's Woodhull) and Troupsville (it's Troupsburgh).
