Trogluddite Posted July 31 Posted July 31 (edited) Unfortunately, I had three posts concerning this single case. While I can't identify the paper in which this specific article was published, the first articles I can find were published in Ohio papers, such as The Cincinnati (OH) Enquirer, on September 20, 1886. Apart from minor formatting changes, they appear identical. Edited 14 hours ago by Trogluddite To consolidate three posts on the same incident.
Trogluddite Posted August 6 Author Posted August 6 (edited) I know I posted this one in the Sightings - Midwest forum, but topics in other forums tend to get buried with time. This story was published in the Keystone Gazette, Waynesboro (PA), on January 12, 1887. Because of the publication date, I though it was a separate incident. The third post, which merely duplicated this story, has been deleted. Edited 14 hours ago by Trogluddite
Trogluddite Posted 14 hours ago Author Posted 14 hours ago One more story about this which I just found. Local papers, which I believe were generally partisan at the time, were quick to spin the story to their political advantage, disparaging the Holmes County wild man as a disaffected politician from Wayne County, Ohio.
