Incorrigible1 Posted August 25, 2025 Posted August 25, 2025 I'm a follower of Stefan, but he gives short shrift to the Cerutti mastodon evidence. I appreciate his skeptical nature. I'm not knowledgeable enough to render a decision on the Cerutti mastodon evidence, but lean towards its authenticity. 1 1

Which considering its well over 100,000 years old? It’s a profound find. And most likely not the work of our own species.
BigToe Posted September 18, 2025 Posted September 18, 2025 Yes, I think there were archaic human species that reached the New World, too. Here is possibly an archaic human footprint from Kansas: https://faculty.ucr.edu/~legneref/kansas/kansas.htm Although it could be faked from the similar looking Burtele foot which was discovered the same year as this foot print pictures were uploaded to the website. And here is well documented site of potentially archaic humans in Hueyatlaco, Mexico: 1
Incorrigible1 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Pre-Clovis? Not so fast. Interesting discussion regarding whether the Monte Verde site, in Chile, is truly Pre-Clovis. Monte Verde is a linchpin site in the Pre-Clovis theory debate. The video author interviews a paleoarchaeologist who has submitted new research disputing the accepted age of the human artifacts found at Monte Verde. 1

I think this is also a lynchpin to the pre Clovis hypothesis. https://archaeologymag.com/2025/06/new-study-on-ancient-human-footprints-in-new-mexico/
