Pennsylvania 1920 - Gorilla or Large Ape Sighted Near Doerr Terrace (The Beginning)

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Doerr Terrace was a new development laid out on the south side of Pittsburgh in 1902.  In December 1919, a "wild man" had been terrorizing a remote section of southwestern Pennsylvania, a mere 40 miles away.  By August of 1920 a large ape or gorilla had moved to Pittsburgh.  The first article was published in the Pittsburgh (PA) Post on August 21, 1920.  The article, about the posse that was formed, was published in the Pittsburgh (PA) Gazette Times on August 22, 1920.

UPDATE: I forgot to mention that many of the stories concerning the Doerr Terrace ape were published in Bigfoot in Pennsylvania by Timothy Renner.
