I tend to think that this is a human, but who knows?  Published in the North Platte (NE) Telegraph-Bulletin on August 09, 1949.  

 

 

As published in the Waukesha (WI) Daily Freeman on August 10, 1949, he doesn't appear to have been trapped, or to have been a Bigfoot/Sasquatch.
