Printed in The Sheboygan (WI) Press on August 09, 1949, this story also includes mention of a thunderbird seen in the area.  The second story from that paper identified an Illinois state conservation supervisor who believed that the "monster" really existed.  However, the signs are early on pointing to a bear.
