Published in the Hartford (CT) Courant on July 8, 1765 about a mysterious animal encountered near Great Barrington. This appears to be the source of the O'Connor story, although certain facts were clearly omitted or changed. Note that the article ends mid-word, but the section of the page where the remainder of the story should appear is illegible.
