Trogluddite Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago The State of Washington began a project in 1936 to preserve stories of its early pioneers; it did this by visiting elderly persons receiving old age assistance through the State Department of Public Welfare. These stories were collated into a three volume set entitled As Told by the Pioneers and one of the stories was included in The Bigfoot Casebook Updated by Janet and Colin Bord. Rocque Ducheney was the son of a Lord Mayor of Montreal who lived between 1819 and 1861. He was sent west to learn the business of the Hudson Bay Company and eventually given a post at the yillage of Chinook. His granddaughter was interviewed for Told by the Pioneers. She related her family history and some Indian legends.
