Attributed to John Green when mentioned in SASQUATCH/BIGFOOT CHRONICLE & Other Unrecognized Relict Hominoids & Wild Men Earliest Reports to 1899 by Christopher L. Murphy (Unpublished).  There are some small errors in that account; these are likely attributable to the challenges of researching things in the distant past (before the internet.  The original article was published in the New York (NY) Evening Post on April 19, 1831; the second in The Fredonia (NY) Censor on May 18, 1831.
