Cone Adaptations in Primate Eyes

[Trogluddite]

I realize that I am a true trogluddite, but with statements like the following, I have to wonder if scientists are as smart as they think they are ... from page 2, "If there is no spread of adaptation from one cone type to another, one would predict a lack of spatial spread of adaptation."  Sounds like NS² to me, but maybe someone here is much smarter than I am and can make sense of this paper and whether it offers value to Bigfooters.
