Bigfoot sightings in the greater KC area

As a bigfoot investigator, I've taken a number of Bigfoot sighting reports in and around the KC area in the past few years. Most have been near the Missouri River near Sugar Creek, Independence, and east at the Burr Oak woods conservation area. There was also a mothman sighting at Burr Oak Woods.  The most recent Bigfoot sighting occured in the city in Independence when a large grey bigfoot was seen near 23rd and Pearl street at dusk.  If you have had a sighting in this region, please let me know, as I would like to include it in an upcoming book on the subject.

So KC is not normally what comes to mind when I think of prime BF real estate. To what do you attribute the multiple number of sightings in the area? While urban BF is not unheard of, it does seem to be fairly rare. Just curious.

 

Also, do you mind providing a few more details on some of the incidents? That latest sighting in Independence is smack dab in the the center of a residential area and seems highly improbable, but I would love to know more about it.

Are they perhaps venturing closer in search of water? Or are there more remote sources they could avail themselves of? I was just thinking in light of this years heat they might be pressed for water.

Perhaps. But if you look at the maps, the vast majority of the area around there is open and/or farmland. Not a lot of places to hide out. There is forest in south central, southeast, and southern Missouri, but enough water sources in those areas to keep them there. Not saying it did not happen, just trying to understand why they might be there in the first place.

This is intriguing, would also like to know the source of the urban sighting.

I'm a geography nerd, so I read up a little and studied some maps. Learned something new, didn't know about the cave systems:

There are many creeks and likely greenways feeding the larger rivers. There are many manmade parks and conservation areas in and around the suburbs. That sighting has no proximity to such areas, but a couple of clues might help to explain. Description of a gray animal might indicate aging, and there are the typical suburban cluster of fast food spots nearby. Dumpster diving is a known behavior, and they seem to be fairly bold in search of food.

There have been several sightings of Bigfoot in the past few years near the Missouri River at La Benite Park in Sugar Creek, at the conservation area in Sugar Creek, and in Independence, in that same general area. The Missouri River is 3.66 miles from the recent sighting, and .48 miles from the railroad line, which passes right by the Missouri River. Several people (including me) have heard things that could have been Bigfoot (heavy footsteps on the gravel late at night, loud grunts, and on two occasions, rails being banged against each other, which I doubt a human could do) along the railroad cut that goes directly behind my house, which is 2 miles from the most recent location. The cuts are heavily overgrown with bushes and trees.  I need to write an article about these reports.
