Huntster Posted Sunday at 01:14 PM Posted Sunday at 01:14 PM If government will go to these lengths to protect certain trees (especially just maintaining the secrecy/remoteness strategies), would they do likewise to protect a rare human sub-species? I think so............ 1

Yes, protecting the bigfoot species in national forest is a 'must do' but when we look at how many acres bigfoot inhabits, effective protection could start the civil war over again between environmentalist and industrialist. How do we protect a rare primate species that probably lives and hunts in every remote forest with roads or no roads throughout the United States? 193 million acres of grazing land and forest is managed by the forest service, and 58 million acres is managed by the Bureau of Land Management and bigfoot probably has lived and hunted is many of those acres. Once bigfoot becomes a proven species, adequate protection may include fewer hunting permits and drastically reduced logging will be the fuse to dynamite that starts a new civil war. Do you remember the problems caused by the Spotted Owl? Will the industrialist win out and continue to rule over bigfoot's habitat? Once a live or dead bigfoot is brought in and recognized as a new species, this environmental conflict will probably start. The Forest Service and BLM won't be defining bigfoot as a mythical creature anymore and then what happens? Edited Tuesday at 03:16 PM by georgerm

Oh you forgot a goal Huntster which is if bigfoot is regularly reported in a particular part of the forest then allow more timber sales and logging so the area can be heavily logged which requires new roads. Remember bigfoot is a mythical creature that doesn't need biological studies and reports.

The opposite happened in the Bluff Creek area of Six Rivers National Forest where the PGF was shot. Now, in winter when Bigfoot tracks can most easily be found, the area is closed "to prevent the spread of Phytophthora lateralis, a non-native pathogen that causes Port-Orford-cedar root disease. See my point #2: Quote .........2) Limit access to areas where the species has its densest populations........... 1

Don't you think, however, that the Government Bigfoot conspiracy theories are getting a little bit carried away? When I watch and listen to a lot of the people in power these days, I wonder how they can even tie their shoes in the morning much less keep any secrets about a 10' tall primate. So, 'the rules' require killing a male and a female Bigfoot so they can be classified but then, if anyone harms another one, they should be hung? What if their clan doesn't understand why the puny humans killed two of their relatives and they start throwing giant rocks at cabins and ripping people's arms off? To me, it only makes sense to think this thru before even thinking about going out on a hunt to kill Bigfoot.

Yes, I am very surprised and disappointed that so many people can be duped, especially lately. Along with that though, I just don't believe that, if our Government had definitive proof of Bigfoot, extra-terrestrials, ghosts, etc., that they could collectively keep those things secret to the extent required for the current levels of 'un-discovery'. Something(s) exist which, in my opinion are, to date, beyond our ability to even comprehend.

But you have never refuted my interpretation of scientific discovery and collection of specimens practices by academia. I personally of course would love to see the species protected once they are classified. But once again I don't make the rules. And for the record both the western and native mythology surrounding this subject suggests they already do throw rocks at cabins. And possibly hunt, kill and eat humans. 1

ARE YOU REFERING TO KILLING ONE MALE BIGFOOT AND A FEMALE TO PROVE THEY ARE A NEW SPECIES? SCIENCE IS CRUEL BUT A NECESSARY EVIL OR IS IT? LIVE CAPTURES IS MORE HUMAIN. "I personally of course would love to see the species protected once they are classified." ONCE THE BIGFOOT SPECIES IS CLASSIFIED, DO YOU SEE NEW LAWS BEING PASSED THAT OVERLY PROTECT BIGFOOT'S HABITAT SO AREAS THAT WERE ONCED LOGGED ARE NOW SHUT DOWN SO BIGFOOT CAN FREELY HUNT AND BUILD HOMES? DO YOU SEE THE ENVIRONMENTAL MOVEMENT TAKING CHARGE AND HAMPERING LOGGING? (AT ONE TIME I WAS A CHOKER SETTER DURING A CAT LOGGING OPERATION AND UNDERSTAND LOGGING) "But once again I don't make the rules." THE RULES ARE MADE BY THE PUBLIC AND IF LOGGING IS OVERLY REGULATED OR SHUT DOWN TO PROTECT BIGFOOT'S HABITAT, WHICH CAUSES LUMBER PRICES TO SKY ROCKET, THEN THE PUBLIC IS GOING TO COMPLAIN SO NOW WHAT HAPPENS? "And for the record both the western and native mythology surrounding this subject suggests they already do throw rocks at cabins. And possibly hunt, kill and eat humans." BIGFOOTS ARE SMART ENOUGH TO KILL AND EAT HUMANS THEN TO HIDE ALL THE EVIDENCE. IS THIS SO? THE HUMAN BECOMES ANOTHER LOST HIKER AND NOT A BIGFOOT KILL ! Edited 11 hours ago by georgerm
Backdoc Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago The public and animals: Back in the old days I imagine movie production was less concerned about animal harm. Today there are more concerns probably based on public input. Some might even say we have gone too far the other way. I don't know what the public would demand to protect Bigfoot but there would be something. The only question would be what level of those protections. How far might we go?

More importantly, I think that sasquatches, when discovered, might be classified as a member of the genus Homo, and would thus be "human", not "animal", so the protections might end up being "overly". Regarding the environmental industry, they are currently silent (and I mean completely so) with regard to sasquatchery, which is frankly suspicious, but after discovery, they'll be making more noise than a continuous nuclear detonation.

"Discovery" is a sham. All it is is permission for the masses to accept what many of us already know to be true. With regard to ghosts/spirits, we already know that people die, and later return and talk about things they couldn't possibly know. Lots and lots and lots of people. It's all just shoveled into the religion drawer, which is right above the sasquatch drawer. We already know, and Science accepts, that sasquatch creatures have lived in the past. They have fossils. The only mystery is whether they're still around, and the evidence says that they are. I personally don't accept extraterrestrial visits, but can't explain much of the phenomenon we see and have actually captured:
