Could certainly be a hoax but as a BF enthusiast, this kind of news is what you might look for with a potentially real sighting.

I would say costume if it was in front of a car dealership but not a random person in a gorilla costume standing on the side of a rural highway at dusk. That's as bad as dressing up like bigfoot, running down the highway, and hoping you don't get shot or hit by truck/car.

Didn't something similar happen with a bar promotion in Alaska last year? The guy in the suit decided to take his show on the road and give some folks a sighting? I don't remember the details.

I am only familiar with that guy that sued the state park because they wouldn't let him film himself jumping out of bushes and scaring hikers dressed up like bigfoot.

I remember the hoax your talking about F George, a group on a tour boat had a sighting that was video'd but later turned out to be the same outfit that was video taped at the local bar the night before. I can't remember the exact location though.

And I agree it's only a matter of time before some bright young lad claims that coveted "Darwin Award" for dressing as a sas and running around the woods during hunting season, only to catch one between the eyes. It will surely make his family proud.

I doubt it, why, all the hunters here claiming they would never shoot a BF because it looks so human like, and they don't want to be prosecuted, etc. Plus everyone else equating it to murder... look at the condemnation of the Sierra shooting incident, not that I believe it.

We can't have it both ways.

You're probably right, Gigantor. The hunters here are smart though. My guess is there is at least a handful of hunters out there that came out of the factory broken. And might even have a few beers on the day a genius in a suit decides to have his laugh. It's only a matter of time before the planets align for this scenario.

I remember the video and the BF was buff colored and walking along the shore. This fellow/BF is lucky since there were probably other boats out there with fishermen who usually have weapons aboard. It's a matter of time before hail of gun fire brings this hoaxer down.

As for the gorilla sighting, it was probably a real BF and it's long gone. There are hundreds of road side sightings and BFs just scampers away as if they intentionally tease humans. Maybe they can read and get a charge out of seeing their stunt written up in the paper!

perhaps to the general public, a gorilla sighting ,even though unlikely,would be a little more likely than BF.

ive wondered sometimes if some of the encounters ive heard of that included primate/gorilla sounds may have actually been an escaped gorilla or some other primate.

people have been smuggling illegal exotics in as pets for years. i dont think, imo, its too far of a stretch to think an escaped or abandoned ape/chimp could be roaming in a given area,especially farther south with milder winters.

no, i dont think that explains all reports, but it could be a feasible cause for a few of them, imo .

as far as the suit hoaxer & hunters,well, if the wrong guy capped mr hoaxer the world may never hear about that either, if that is there was a shovel handy.
