Guest
Slicktrick I think the General brought this up in the Serria shooting thread. With a number of accidential shootings every year during fireams season, no one is charged even when someone was clearly in the wrong(ie;shooting at movement, sound, etc) and it is ruled an accident. I honestly can't see someone being charged for shooting a hoaxer during a legal hunting season. If someone is dumb enough to put on a fur suit and walk around the woods during hunting season, I couldn't see any type of charges being filed, especially during a bear season. Doc Holliday
maybe so , since if someone were so foolish to hoax in an open season they would almost be asking for it. my point previously was that in a remote situation theres the possibility some individuals may just bury the idiot & move on, to avoid any further involvement . & no, i wouldnt support that action, but it is possibe ,imo, that it could happen.safety 101 "be sure of your target". back to the gorilla sighting though, it would be interesting to know how many , if any, illegal exotic primates have been abandoned or escaped into the wild potentially accounting for some encounter reports such as the one in the OP. Guest Jodie
I do know that when I lived in Tupelo, there was an exoctic preserve south of me in Mississippi that did not evacuate because they thought they were too far inland to have to worry about the storm. Unfortunately, no one anticipated all of the tornadoes that spun off of Katrina or the 100 mile an hour winds that would hit that far inland. Big cats escaped, I'm not sure if they sheltered primates, but there were sightings of a male African Lion in the Tombigbee National Forest after that storm right up until I moved to SC at the end of 2007.
