If it's not subzero temperatures, decomp rate isn't slowed, and even subzero temperatures only slow the rate of decomposition. And the description given was a cold room, not freezing room.

Maybe they do night classes somewhere. It would really help our efforts to solve this conundrum?....sorry, I am in one of my mad moods.....

A "cool" room isn't going to slow down decomposition. And even slowed decomposition after 5 months is going to have some effects on the corpse.
