Guest gerrykleier
I saw this document about a year ago when I hit upon the "super-stealth " hacker idea of going to their website and using their search engine to look at the "bigfoot" and then the "sasquatch" related information . There is alot of interesting stuff there and I suggest everyone take a look and consider what they may and may not be telling us . Post links! Guest RayG
Bottom line -- in the heart of bigfoot country, 220 track-plate stations, zero bigfoot evidence. RayG

RayG I don't believe that's the heart of bigfoot country. That's the opinion of the "its an ape crowd."
Guest OntarioSquatch
I think the point was that they listed it. And I don't see any evidence that it was listed for humour. Edited December 24, 2012 by OntarioSquatch
Oonjerah
http://bigfootforums.com/index.php?/topic/31326-interesting-stories-of-dead-bigfoot/ Post #20, BFSleuth: "It's real enough to the US military that they list sasquatch as part of the fauna for Fort Lewis (Joint Base Lewis McChord) in their training manual. I'm guessing they just want soldiers on training exercises or guard duty not to freak out too much when they encounter one. Several sighting reports from Fort Lewis are in the BFRO database and other databases." Interesting. I asked a retired, Army officer friend about this, but he hasn't replied. Guest mitchw
A link to a recent BFRO report from Florida wherein park rangers seemed to be well aware of bigfoot in the area. southernyahoo
It's absolutely a government document. However it looks like a poster presenting the results of this study at a conference. The study was a partnership between USFW, USFS, and several private groups. I present papers regularly at conferences as well as an NPS employee and I'll often throw in some humor though where i can to keep it fun. So that's the most likely explanation, imo---just a joke. And probably a joke that many of those contributors will regret when they come back from the holidays to find their inboxes full of emails from BF proponents accusing them of a cover-up. Seriously, why would you include something like this on a poster with no explanation, no positive results for BF, unless it's just a gag. I'd have no problem with their negative results, it's probably true, they didn't get any giant humanlike barefooted prints on their track plates. Everybody knows if there were any sasquatch in the area they would walk up to those track plates and stomp them into the ground.
Guest Orygun
They probably contracted with Finding Bigfoot for that area.
Guest
Guys just becuase it's the govt. doesn't mean they've all lost their sense of humor.... This is true. I'm a cop, and believe it or not, when appropriate, I try to slip humour in to my job, be it in documents or reports or just talking to people on the street. Humour makes life far more fun, especially when you have serious work to do. So I wouldn't read too much into this. I highly doubt there's a conspiracy within the US parks. Guest
What book was it David Paulides authored that had the section of interviewing the Ca. DFG information officer and asking for all the Bigfoot reports in Ca? Back in 2010 I personally called the DFG regional Wildlife Manager in Rancho Cordova office and she told me that they don't keep tract of Bigfoot reports but hear about them on a weekly bases. To me there is a dis-connect here departmentally somewhere. I believe that CA. DFG just won't talk to anyone without credintials or unless you have some goods on them and forse them to play their hand. I think it is a departmental policy to not talk to the general public about this subject, IMO.
