If their coming across the galaxy or jumping through worm holes to go on safari here, you would hope they might bath first.

Most likely their race is based on a Klingon type system where oder is associated with being a warrior, might explain why the Swamp Ape seems to be more aggressive than the Pacific Sasquatch.
