Guest SquatchinNY
Heya guys. This report was added to the BFRO a few months ago. A man was jogging from his friends house back to his own, and something shadowed him for most of the way. What is your opinion on this behavior? Is it predatory, menacing or almost curiously playful? http://www.bfro.net/GDB/show_report.asp?id=30670
Guest crabshack
Predatory, many that have had that happen say they a feeling of being hunted.

Guest
And THAT is why I don't go in the woods looking for these things. I never would have gotten away from that.

Yeah, it's all fun and games until you get chased through the woods on a dark night. I dunno, but the growling and the attempt to cut him off doesn't strike me as playful. Guest
Some probably behave different than others, but who is really willing to be the one to test that out...

Guest SquatchinNY
My opinion is it was not hunting the guy, but merely "escorting" him out, shadowing him, and "forcing" him away. But threatening for sure.
Redbone
Menacing Bluff! As much as I would like my own encounter, I hope it's not like this one.

But threatening for sure. Obviously it could have have nabbed him and or the dog as they stood there in the driveway, but it didn't, so... Can't figure why if it was within 5 or 6 feet why he couldn't see it, I've never experienced a night quite that dark. Also, I wonder if he started driving to his friends house, or if he continued to walk the trail did he do so unarmed? Menacing Bluff! As much as I would like my own encounter, I hope it's not like this one. Yeah, I could do without being chased.
JDL
Definitely menacing, transitioning to predatory, and it could have turned out very badly. When he ran, if it had any predatory ambitions at all, he ignited them. Shadowing him would have been menacing, trying to cut him off was definitely predatory. On the other hand, it probably could have chased him down from behind. I wonder how often they chase prey down vs ambushing it from the flank. Guest
I’ve been clocked at sprinting 22MPH before (not including adrenaline). Imaginary. Very well done, though. I love the details.
Midnight Owl
I think you have the good, the bad and the ugly with Bigfoot. There have been instances of them even saving a drowning person, helping a snake bite victim out of the woods or returning a lost child. On the other hand, there are recorded instances of people of being attacked or just come up missing?? Just like a big city, there are places you are safe, other areas you should avoid. Knowing which, when and where might be a problem not easily answered.....
WV FOOTER
If it was within 5 or 6 feet from him and he couldn't see it, I'm wondering what he was doing at his neighbors house.
