Xion Comrade
The vast majority of bigfoot seem to be peaceniks in terms of harming us, and you really shouldn't have much to worry about in terms of being killed, but things have and do happen, and the episode in question going through some accounts of sasquatches doing mock charges, which there are sometimes reports of that, and the man's truck being dented by one throwing a limb, or personal injury after injuring one has happened many times, and there's nothing wrong with telling this side of their behavior. I didn't gather that they wanted everyone to believe that sasquatches were generally out to kill and eat us. I've always figured they did, every single thing a bigfoot does in peoples stories on their programs they always talk about how that person was in immediate danger be it a bluff charge or stalking, heck one time a guy was talking about leaving food out for bigfoot and they mentioned that the bigfoot would probably ignore the food left out and instead look at the person leaving it as food. If one of these things was out to kill you why would it behave like this? It is totally ridiculous...They said it all, and it is a garbage thing to say. Just a few programs ago one of the hosts was mentioning his fascinating encounter as a boy out hunting with his small caliber rifle, running right up on a massive bigfoot which started staring him down He fired a shot into the air hoping it would leave but another came up and started staring him down. He then said that if he didn't have that wee little rifle they may well have killed him. He said it, not me, and it is one of the most preposterous things I have ever head in my life. It wouldn't be such a big deal to me if they weren't as popular as they are, the problem being that talk like that preconditions the majority of people to believe these things are violent, and if I know anything about most people it is that they EAT THAT FEAR STUFF UP, they will jump on that pitchforks, torches, and monsters wagon so quick if will make our head spin and will want these creatures gone. jayjeti
Hello Xion Comrade, If that is the main theme show after show then you have a valid point that it can be misleading and create an unhealthy fear that might be unproductive to sasquatch research. jayjeti
They are likely only dangerous when defending themselves, or when defending their family or possibly their territory. I think that is most often the case, but there is also the issue of David Paulides books "Missing 411," and possible sasquatch involvement in unprovoked abductions in certain areas. Another reason I still classify them as dangerous is that we are not certain of their nature. We haven't gathered enough data about the behavior to know exactly how they think. That's a good way to look at it. We can only guess at these things. One theory I read is they were once more aggressive toward humans when interacting with Native Americans long ago, and also with early settlers, but the introduction of guns changed the dynamics of their behavior, where animals figure out quickly who the top predator is and avoid it. This theory is derived from Indian lore and tales of their interactions with them and with early settlers compared to how they act today, which might be less aggressive. Many Indian legends speak of them abducting women and children and eating them. Highway 16 in Canada is nicknamed the highway of tears due to all the disappearances of people either hitchhiking or at campgrounds along that road. I've read different estimates of the missing, from 40 to as hight as 60 over a 3 decade period, almost all of them women and children. Here is a link to a story about Piaute Indian tribes banding together in a battle at Lovelock Cave, Nevada to destroy red haired giants that had been eating their people. Archaeologists have confirmed the battle took place and remains of two red haired giants, one over 8 feet tall, were discovered in the cave. http://sasquatchresearchers.org/forums/index.php?/topic/321-paiutes-battle-red-haired-giants-at-lovelock-cave/ I don't want to sound over alarmist because I believe the vast majority of them do not engage in that type of behavior. But I want to affirm your statement that we don't exactly know how they think, and I believe some people overemphasize the peaceful disposition of sasquatches when some caution is advised. David Paulides, on the following video, discusses the disappearance of 7-year-old Dennis Martin and the sasquatch seen soon after the boy's sudden disappearance carrying something on its shoulder. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uz8E0UCm54 Edited October 18, 2014 by jayjeti
Guest thermalman
http://www.blogtalkradio.com/bigfoothotspot/2014/02/28/sc-ep19-bigfoot-stories-with-tim-coonbo-baker This program tells Tim's stories and if this guy is telling the truth than BF are more dangerous than I ever thought that they were. Is any of this stuff possible? Have any of you ever heard anything about BF beheading people? Can't say that I have. At any rate, the only witness would not be able to tell us. Wingman1
Do to the fact that we know next to nothing about them I think it would be prudent to err on the side of caution when in the forest. There really is no evidence that BF would act in that aggressive of a manner. If there was we would more than likely know about it. Anything that ranges in height from 7ft to 9ft and weighs in the neighborhood of 800+ lbs could disassemble a human in many different ways. I personally do not think they are anymore dangerous than Bears or Cougars. Most BF aggression reports indicate bluff charging vocal intimidation, rock throwing, tree branch breaking, and shaking larger trees. I would think is more a territorial assertion behavior, or it could be due to the fact that a person has gotten a bit too close to a female with her young. I can certainly understand that behavior. There is always a possibility that you run into one that is having a really bad day! That would be my kind of luck! I would not be worried too much about that, but I would definitely be cautious, and have a healthy respect of their capabilities. If I were to receive any of the aggression behaviors that I mentioned, I would just turn around and start walking (not running) back the way I came. I will probably be escorted out as well. Do not give them any reason to think that you could be a threat. You may just find out that the next time you are out in the forest you may get a much better reception from them. Use common sense and you should be alright.
Guest
Suzi, curious what it is you wish to hear. That bigfoot are gentle woodland imps that help mankind at any chance they get? Incor,my friend, You nailed it. I truly though that BF would be curious, but **not** dangerous. I understand that the Dogman type is considered dangerous, but I've always heard that BF will watch hikers and campers, perhaps throw pine cones, but not harm humans unless provoked. This is a side of BF that I have never heard about, ever! I've heard of old legends of them beheading people. For the most part sasquatches seem to avoid people. I agree with BobbyO that they can be dangerous and hurt humans at times. And there are certainly many stories, particularly Indian legends, of them killing humans. Here is an excerpt from an article about interations with Indians. The "Seeahtik" is one name for bigfoot. The Indians retaliated after having some women stolen and it says 12 of them were ripped apart. "Allen Chenois added that the Tyapish had not killed any Indians of the past generation that he knows of, but he had heard that former Chehalis Indians had been murdered at times by the giant Indians. They were so strong it is known they could pull a grown man’s head right off. L. Peter James of the Lummi tribe related last year to the writer that the Seeahtik always leaves a tiny branch of cedar tree at places they have visited or upon people whom they have killed or played a practical joke on. The Duwamish tribe at one time related that some of their women had been stolen. The Seeahtiks in a rage killed 12 of the Duwamish tribe by ripping them in two. Mr. James’ mother, who is still alive, was a witness to the tragedy. She said; “They took our young men like toys, turning them upside down and ripping them in two like a piece of calico. Never again did the Duwamish tribe seek revenge when their women and babies were stolen by these Snayihum or Indians of the night and brothers to the Noseless one.†http://hamell.net/earliest-documented-bigfoot-sighting-in-pacific-northwest-part-2/ That story is just horrible. I truly did not know that this side of the BF species existed. I thought that they watched humans, and were curious about us, not really dangerous at all to us as long as we humans left them alone. Guest
Xion Comrade Thank you for your comments. I have NEVER heard stories such as these being told in this podcast. I had absolutely no idea about behaviors from some of the BF species towards these humans telling their various scary stories. All of them are frightening and dangerous interactions regarding their various BF encounters. Tim and his group have been in many life threatening encounters with the BF species if they are telling the truth, and sadly, they do sound like true stories:( Wingman 1, Did you listen to Tim's stories? Tim has had several terrifying encounters with the BF and had his animals threatened or killed by the BF in his area.
norseman Posted October 18, 2014 Admin Share Posted October 18, 2014 According to many stories, Sasquatch likes to attack the neck, both humans and animals and also twists tree saplings. I suppose if your big enough, and worked up enough, you could twist a neck right off a body maybe.......dunno.

I have been a part of the BF world for a long time, and I did actually see a Dogman once, yet I always thought of the BF as the gentle giants of the woodlands/forests. Truly, I have never heard any stories such as these regarding Sasquatch behavior towards humans, and penned up outdoor dog kennels. Even if half of these stories are true, I now realize that some of the BF can be very dangerous towards humans. My kids camp and hike, truly, I'm now really sorry that I listened to this program. jayjeti
According to many stories, Sasquatch likes to attack the neck, both humans and animals and also twists tree saplings. I suppose if your big enough, and worked up enough, you could twist a neck right off a body maybe.......dunno. If we get into the whole gambit of bigfoot karate, from tales of what they've done, besides pulling off heads or ripping you open, they bite necks, throw you against trees, tear off limbs, and stomp on you. As far as strength, a 160 lb chimpanzee is 5 times stronger than a man. The reason for that is the type of muscle. Humans are built more for finesse and fine motor skills. Our type of muscle caters to the brains we have and for that type of fine motor skills our muscles are not as strong. Apes muscles are more for brute strength. I wonder if sasquatches have the more brute strength type muscle fiber? If so, coupled with their bulk could make them immensely strong. One of their stick structures is inverting 1000 lb trees root side up, and sticking them several feet into the ground. I previously alluded to five hunters who had their heads torn off. They were part of a party of nine, and the others were finally able to kill it. The article said they measured him and he was 13 feet tall, and commented, "and its breadth and volume of just proportions." http://sasquatchresearchers.org/forums/index.php?/topic/419-13-foot-sasquatch-beheads-5-hunters/ Can you imagine the size of that thing? Michael Jordan is 6'6" which is exactly half of 13 feet. And it appears the sasquatch was bulked out as well. And if he has the type of muscle that makes him many more times stronger than men anyway, these guys are like Hercules -- no wonder they can tear heads or limbs off with ease. Bonehead74
Bonehead, I listened to it and the man telling the story said he had doubts about the story because he couldn't corroborate it, but he left open the possibility it could have happened. He did not flat out say he did not believe the story.I'll submit the semantic point to you. What I should have said is that Coonbo in no way stated that he believed the story was true. My main point was that the story was presented as just that: a story, and one that even the teller did not endorse. As Rod Serling used to say, "Submitted for your approval..." I don't approve. Xion Comrade
Xion Comrade Thank you for your comments. I have NEVER heard stories such as these being told in this podcast. Tim has had several terrifying encounters with the BF and had his animals threatened or killed by the BF in his area. You will have to define "life threatening" for me here because I have trouble with this term in this context. If I recall from podcasts and talking to him myself, Tim has said that these things have had more than ample opportunity to kill the crap out of him and those with him and haven't done it yet(obviously), and if you ask me there was zero opportunity for the bigfoot to sustain injury in the process more than likely. If I recall correctly he saw one on night vision taking a swipe at "Bear", which sounds menacing enough until you figure out that it could have hit him easily if it wanted to, If I remember right it was just a half butted swipe, more of a gesture telling them to bug off. You have to realize that they don't speak English, so the only way they can convey themselves is through gestures and the sort, problem is something as big and fierce as they are could just burp and melt most people's heart through their bowels.....Tbh I have only heard of people actually coming into physical contact with a bigfoot in anyway only a couple of times in the past 50-60 years, that out of about 10k stories I have been through, both related to me directly and indirectly. I suppose my experiences could have been "life threatening" if it tripped and fell on me (which seems to be how most people would have interpreted the encounter >.<), being as how it was about 4 feet from me, it had every opportunity to harass or kill me for two nights but never even touched me. The speed, strength, and just outright stupidly stealthyness of these things(I have experienced all 3 in a short and amazing time, and it made my jaw drop) makes me think it is pretty dang stupid to be afraid one is going to just kill you because if it is, you are toast and there is nothing you can do to stop it. I don't even think a good gun would even HELP if you were alone or just with another person. I remember Robert Morgan, a old time researcher of 50+years, talking about the only time he ever thought one was going to kill him. He and his group had managed to figure out where a family was bedding down in the PNW after a long time in the area and decided to go to the area to see if they could collect evidence. Once they got to a point where the nest apparently was (It was like a mountain of brush, I remember a guy who got the hell hounded out of him a few months ago from around Roanoke,VA who had a thread calling them 'trolls' talking about this sort of nest, funny thing is I believed the guy but everyone ran him off as fast as they could, that is the bigfoot community for you, mindless negativity) something big just jumped up a ways off and started booking it towards them with apparently near supernatural speed. If I recall it was a way off but closing maddeningly fast, they had some group members spotting for them in case something like this happened, and they were the ones who caught it first. Robert noted that the thing wasn't heading directly for them, but was deliberately headed for where their exit path was, they would be trapped between it and the brush but got the heck out of dodge! Robert seemed to think it was a big daddy and his babies were staying in that brush, it was a horrible ignorant idea. Besides doing disrespectful BS like what that group pulled in that situation, I would say a deadly bigfoot encounter just isn't going to be a issue for you out and about looking for them.
