A couple years ago I told Norseman that if I were trying to collect a specimen, one way was to advertise a service that solved wild animal problems for folks that needed help. An example of what I was thinking is the Cowman of Copalis Beach or the Ruby Creek incident. In both of these cases, the families were at wits end and really needed help with making their homes safe for their families. If these stories are true, I do not think anyone could blame them for what happened and even though these are older stories, its plausible for this to happen again and again. The key to these two stories are the kids involved and the sasquatch attracted to them.

As a landowner myself and a father, it is much more important to keep my family safe than to take a chance on the behavior of any wild animal. If it was just myself, then I could take much more risk. So to answer the OP based on my situation, it would be immediately although I may not have done that in the past.

If BF is a solitary creature, then bringing back a body might be possible. However, if BF lives in a BF community (ex. family unit), I think it will be difficult to bring back a body because they might have a "leave no one behind" policy.

The point being is if BF was a genuinely malicious creature these encounters could easily have had a very different narrative. Instead they demonstrate an inquisitive animal who when faced with a relatively easy opportunity to prey on its victim chooses to walk away.

We have our exceptions of course. Ape Canyon and the Cowman of Copalis Beach are great stories but show how fearsome these guys can be. These incidents are far from the norm however. I don't listen to Sas Chronicles though so I may be out of step with everyone else.

At this point in BFery, it is probably possible to 'manufacture'' a very good bad-Squatch encounter. Sas Chron has one iffy episode IMO, and there may be more. All of a sudden a huge swath of their older shows dissappeard, from 70 to 35.

 

But there have always been creepy squatch stories, Sas-chron just upped the ante. Who knows if they are all true.

Hello MG, I thought I would place some thought provoking details of specific encounters property owners contend with since it was step with the thread, and may have overlooked the part of violence mentioned, but yes there are lots of other types too. I live in Detroit; some say the “Murder Capital,†so my interpretation of fearsome may differ a bit from somebody else depending on their geographical location. Looking too hard, too long at a stranger around has been enough for violent reaction and there were no Bigfoots involved. My point is whether it’s a human thief we’re talking about or a human pervert or a curious giant hairy animal, most people react quite similar.  I can tell you people around here do not react well with strangers traipsing around on their property, peeking in windows, pounding on houses, growling and stealing things off their property outside the metropolitan areas where all of those snippets took place, and did feel some level of fear.

 

SSQ - I read on one of the messages that if they had habituation situation they would move, me too and a lot of people have as well for the very same reason but whose going to inform prospective buyers that you Bigfoot in the woods and they scare your family to death? Do you think they can still sell their property and recoup their investment?  To me if you own property and start with the habituation and gifting, and you encourage those things to visit and you decide to move and don't disclose the mess one started, I think there should be some legal remedy. Do I think its possible? No .... In most states you can't sue for non-disclosure over ghost hauntings .... LOL. It is true. Many folks ridicule and roll their eyes over Bigfoot but there a number of states that recognize ghosts, hauntings, and things of that nature that would cause people to flee their home. Anyways I hope I answered your question Mark.

I don't think there's many people having problems with Bigfoot hanging around their houses/yards. But I was asked by a property owner here how to keep them away from the back of his house. I told him to light up the backyard at night. Seems to work. Chris B.

This is my thought.  I would be surprised if you got one out of the woods if you had to transport it any distance.
