Cascades Carnivore Project - How Do They Miss The Bigfoots?

Kit,

Your melding all three encounters into one. I never measured anything. And the toes were filmed in Minnesota and not Keller.

Anyhow you play the odds kit, that's all your doing, you take something from each encounter that you feel is a ***** in the armor and you attack. All I can say is ill gladly film you trying to replicate the Minnesota trackway with stompers strapped to your feet. It should be easy to prove its a hoax right?

Something made those tracks kit, they are not a illusion or a false memory. So it's either a hoax or a squatch.

Deep snow seperates the wheat from the chaff real quick.

What I saw reading Kit's post is classic city-slicker "analysis."  Some just need to get out more.

Holding my breath for the Deep Snow Reveal.  It's so easy no one ever attempts it.  Oh.  OK.

Yea those city slickers couldn't possibly understand Bigfoot.  Those eggheads and intellectuals in NEW YORK CITY or SAN FRANSISCO with their science and educations.....blah blah blah

Many places, frequently, across this continent and overseas.  I know what the ground feels like to sleep on better than most.

You?

Regarding city-slicker analysis and getting out there, I can add another group who do exactly the latter to the list of conservational groups working on wildlife monitoring in prime Bigfoot hotspots who have gotten back to me regarding inquiries about possible Bigfoot evidence and how they handle it.

Today I received the following correspondence from the Gifford Pinchot Task Force...

Hello, GP Task Force.

An interesting question for members of the GPTF. Have any of the researchers/members ever had sightings, encountered or even recorded anything that could be attributed as evidence of the alleged species of large bipedal primate known popularly as Sasquatch/Bigfoot? The Gifford Pinchot is said to be a hotbed of activity by Bigfoot enthusiasts.

Furthermore, whether or not any such experience has happened, what do you think of the notion that were an encounter to happen or evidence be collected, it would be withheld for fear of ridicule or suppressed in some fashion?

Thank you for your wonderful efforts and all the best to all of you this Holiday Season!

Hi ******,

While the Pacific Northwest has been the historical hot bed of activity with regard to alleged Bigfoot sightings, no staff, members, or volunteers have ever had an encounter with the purported creature or any signs that would indicate its actual existence since our inception in 1985.

With regard to collection of hard evidence, we would imagine that, if someone truly believed they had collected evidence of such a creature, they would provide the evidence for DNA sequencing and other substantive testing to verify it's legitimacy.

The Gifford Pinchot National Forest is a densely wooded swath of 1.3 million largely uninhabited acres full of a diverse array of natural wonders-we certainly do not mind that it's home to a world-renown legend.

All the best,

-The GP Task Force Team

Thank you so much for your response and your clarification on the matter. While it would be fantastic to be wrong, I had no expectation that any actual evidence had been recovered. I just recently was in touch with Conservation Northwest who had the same answer for me.

I write from a skeptical viewpoint on a number of blogs and forums regarding the subject of Bigfoot and the response from ardent believers is that groups like yours will either not report any evidence out of fear of ridicule or interference by the government whom they believe to be aware of Bigfoot existing but seek to suppress it, or that Bigfoot/Sasquatch is somehow able to avoid being detected by the network of trail cams and other detection systems you have for mammals deployed throughout your region.

Keep up your wonderful work and thank you for your time.

I guess being raised in the forests of "Mysterious Ape Island" Vancouver Island makes me a city-slicker.

...and no conception of wild places or wild animals.  No frame of ref.  None.

We've seen it 108 times in the history of science:  what you know keeps you from learning more.

I can tell you I've heard from people whose time outside dwarfs mine and that's hard, and I think when they're done.

Oh.

You get outside.

Do you ever, like, spend any time thinking about it...?

Same old type of response, void of any real information

"he had a lot to say, he had a lot of nothing to say..."

I don't get out much anymore, when I do it is just in the hills of PA and it's not looking for squatch, but then again I never claimed to get out much nor did I ever imply that I get out more than others.

Then I'm not sure how much you're contributing, speaking of that part in quotes there.

You know, this couch-potato skeptic thing can wear after a bit.  You know that.  You got any of anything to say I'm sure somebody would listen.

Who said I was trying to say much of anything?  Perhaps I'm still in the collecting information and data phase, am I not aloud to do that?  I have under 250 posts, that's not even 1 post per day since I joined.  I am generally not guilty of wall-o-text posts that contain no useful information just a bunch of psychobabble as a form of misdirection, I suppose if I were to partake in this my post count could be higher.

Dodge, dodge, dodge, that is apparently the proponents method

Please list the major scientific discoveries from the last 50 years which were made without prior knowledge within the field.

Look at any paper from a major scientific breakthrough and you'll find a pile of references to previous work.

You keep spouting this nonsense that great science is done without known data. methods, theories, etc.

Pretty sure I know what's in those two blue bands that just appeared above me, I'll simply say:  Figures, and wait for people who are serious about this.

It seems you're only interested in mind games.

Wow.

Conspiracy theory time again.

I just love the "Nope, no BF's have we seen here" missive from our friends at the GP Task Force. Thanks BTW, for getting that for us Kitikaze, and that nice person should also be appreciated for the kind response.

If I weren't in the question asking business, and if I hadn't spent decades representing organizations and corporations and helping them answer really, really pointed questions concerning very serious allegations of really, really bad things they've done (including killing some other really nice people in gruesome and creative ways) I might find that response more compelling. But I know human institutions all too well.  That's how many people-years since 1985 we're talking about? I am here to tell you, as an expert, that the possibility of any person actually having the knowledge to correctly assert the truth of that represented fact is vanishingly small. Do they cover stuff up? Oh yeah they do, and not maliciously, always. You are only going to find out about it at the last possible extreme, when they can't suppress it any longer, and still get away with it. (This is often when the Judge is ready to empanel your jury, and the corporate rep. turns to you to say, "I didn't know if this was important for you to know, or not....." Aieeeee!!!)

I think it doesn't do much to dissuade me as to the possibility of govt. suppression, although it does confirm (if accurate) that the incidents of BF encounters by folks in the GPNF are about on a par with the incidents in the general population who also spend time in the wilds by choice or necessity.

Again, I give you lots of credit for trying, but some things just can't be neatly wrapped up by a breezy email. Same goes for some BFF threads as well.

I'm here to represent man, I'm as dumb now as I was when I started reading this monster!
