This year, Bigfoot Days is expected to be bigger than ever, as 2017 is the 50th anniversary of the iconic Patterson-Gimlin film that made Willow Creek the “Bigfoot Capital of the World.” The festival itself is at Veteran’s Park and the VFW, where the day’s events include local vendor booths, a massive Fun Zone, live entertainment, a classic car and bike show hosted by DreamQuest Youth Center, food, BBQ, beer, cider and all new competitions. Favorites such as the “Misery Whip,” “Ax-Throwing” and “Best Bigfoot Call” will be back this year, in addition to the new “Watermelon-Eating” and “Strong-Man” contests and a softball tournament. 2017 SCHEDULE (Subject to change) Saturday, Sept. 2 8 a.m.: Bloody Marys all day, The Fork’s parking lot Frozen White Russians and free pool all day at P & J’s Pool Hall 9 a.m.: Parade check-in next to Rays Food Place Softball Tournament, Veteran’s/Kimtu Park 10 a.m.: Parade, downtown Willow Creek 10 a.m.: Ice Cream Social (until gone), Willow Creek Museum 10:30 a.m.: Band TBD at The Fork’s parking lot 11 a.m.: Waterslides/Rides, Veteran’s/Kimtu Park Retail/Food Vendors, Veteran’s/Kimtu Park Noon: Softball/Horseshoe Tournaments, Veteran’s/Kimtu Park 1 p.m.: Lunch & Ice Cream, VFW Hall, Veteran’s/Kimtu Park Bigfoot Call, Veteran’s/Kimtu Park (by live music) 1:30 p.m.: Watermelon-Eating Contest, live music, Veteran’s/Kimtu Park 3 p.m.: Ax-Throw, Misery Whip Competitions, Veteran’s/Kimtu Park 8 p.m.: Band TBD at P&J’s Pool Hall Band TBD at The Fork’s Sunday, Sept. 3 8 to 11 a.m.: Breakfast at the VFW Hall, Veteran’s/Kimtu Park For more information Booth registration, information: www.WillowCreekCalendar.com New Willow Creek Chamber Info Booth number: 707-335-6202
