Madison5716 Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 (edited) A friend on Facebook just tagged me with these pix. I mean, seriously, people... but I laughed. Edited December 13, 2021 by Madison5716 1

Patterson-Gimlin Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 Thanks for sharing. Probably a hoax right? They wouldn't really post nonsense like this would they? Nevertheless I like it 👌

I've seen them printed up to look like official documents from several NFs. Kinda too funny not to. If there was a REAL problem like the "poster" purports to warn of, then they'd either say nothing at all or it'd be on the local news, it wouldn't just be a poster at a trailhead. That's not how gov't does things. MIB

That's not how gov't does things........ We see "bear warning" signs like that all the time here, and they're standard signs, too, whether somebody saw a bear on a popular trail and reported it or if a bear chewed somebody up in an area. But yeah, if somebody gets chewed up or killed, it's all over the news, and the Troopers and Fish & Game are on the hunt for the bear.
Airdale Posted December 14, 2021 Posted December 14, 2021 (edited) Here are three photos of a trail sign at Snoqualamie Falls east of Seattle. These are from Trip Advisor and are taken by three different people, two from the US and one Brit, in two different years, 2019 and 2021. I was unable to place it on the trail system using Google Earth because the Street View is spotty, but due to the chain leak fence with a warning sign visible in the background and the amber light on a pedestal I suspect it is near a gate that prevents unauthorized access to the adjacent hydro power plant. Doug Posted December 14, 2021 Posted December 14, 2021 I'm kind of shocked that someone was able to set up a chronograph and get a sasquatch to throw a pine cone through it to come up with a 92 mile per hour pinecone toss. 1

Casual hikers and such have no idea... and I think it's a good thing that they are clueless. Let them enjoy their wilderness and let those who know, search more. To each his own. What have you experienced or know of there Madison?

I included this in my summation purely because many in the community believe they are a people rather than an animal.
