BC witness
That brings back memories! In the '90s I had a Ford E350 4x4 conversion, with a raised roof and fully camperized interior. It even had Detroit lockers front and rear. It was 11' tall, and amazingly capable off road, basically a big tank. Eventually it developed terminal body rot, it was dustier inside than outside, so I got rid of it. It was a great hunting rig, just drive it to where you want to be in the morning, turn off the key, and you're camped. I still miss it.
Madison5716
Dang, I could LIVE in that, @norseman! I gifted away my RAV. She was becoming unreliable for running around the deep woods. I cried when she drove off without me. I was gifted a new vehicle, probably a temporary find and potential trade-in, a Mitsubishi Montero Sport - which is in the shop. I'll find out tomorrow what's wrong with it and how much it'll be to fix it. She's much bigger, and 4wd, too - and I can sleep in her, which I could NOT do in the RAV. BC witness
Madison5716, that Mitsubishi should serve you well. Mitsu vehicles have a reputation for being long lived and reliable, so if that one doesn't need too much work, it'll be a keeper. It will definitely use more gas than the RAV, though.
SasquatchPA
I got this older 2008 F250 as my Squatch rig last fall with 92k miles on it. I also built a bunk in the back when needed. I also love going to camp with it. My personalized plate says it all. 1

PNWexplorer
I bought an `87 Ford van 4x4 conversion. I think I paid about $4k for it in 2008 or so. It was used as a church van to get to their camp, so it was full of seats. Came with a built 425hp 460 V8 and got around 6 mpg. I put 35" tires on it and used it for camping and exploring.
BC witness
That's the same extended body Ford that I had (see my description above), but mine had the 360 V8, which had less power, and used just as much gas !
