Incorrigible1
I thought this could be useful for a variety of reasons for investigators.
wiiawiwb
Thanks for sharing. It's very helpful to know what sounds we should expect from nature so we can identify them while out in the woods. I used to live in a very rural and wooded area. The first time I heard a bobcat scream was chilling. Their growls are interesting as well. A fox scream is another one to know and we've had a thread or two about them.
NorthWind
That almost sounds like it's trying to form words at 1:40. Or an orc, from Lord of the Rings. Very good post! Edited November 11, 2022 by NorthWind
bipedalist Posted November 11, 2022 BFF Patron Share Posted November 11, 2022 (edited) I've picked up some long-legged brutes on trailcam but never recorded one to my knowledge. I did hear some suspicious bobcat like sounds from a thicket below me one day that convinced me to move on. Fox can make some crazy sounds too and I have heard them call around sunset and their sounds carry well in the mountains. Doug
Thanks for posting this. So, example one sound of the bobcat is very similar to what I heard one day deer hunting way back on a road through the timber. It was coming from 50 or so yards away from me and paralleled me for a ways. That afternoon, hunting buddy Tony went to that same road and he saw a cougar standing in that road staring at him and then ran off. Hearing this sure brings goosebumps to my arms.
