Is the Bigfoot Forum losing interest?

Not in my book. I didn't bother to research his seven posts because it was clear from just one that he didn't have the capacity, or the intent, or both, to add value to the conversation. Interesting dichotomy. Does it have to be exclusively one or the other?
  7. Well, speaking as someone who has never contributed, but has been reading the forum on and off for years, I used to come here when I became aware of something happening in the Bigfoot world to see what people here were saying about it. I'm not desperately seeking out Bigfoot related stuff but things like Biscardi, Ketchum and Sykes would come to my attention through other media. While those were going on I'd be a regular visitor. For the past few years, nothing like that has happened. I occasionally look here to see if there's something I have missed, but there really never is. And as far as the general media is concerned, it seems that Bigfoot might as well have ceased to exist.
  8. Rob joins host Jeremiah Byron with the Bigfoot Society to recount several chilling encounters with Bigfoot in the Pacific Northwest. From his early experiences at Mount St. Helens in the late '60s and '70s to a spine-tingling nighttime encounter by his cabin in Issaquah, Washington, Rob's stories are filled with vivid details. His tales continue to unfold with encounters in the Cascades, Oregon, and even a telepathic interaction on a trail near the Oregon coast. This episode dives deep into the eerie and mysterious world of Bigfoot encounters, showcasing the fear, astonishment, and wonder experienced by those who've come face-to-face with these elusive creatures.  Sasquatch Summerfest this year, is July 11th through the 12th, 2025. It's going to be fantastic. Listeners, if you're going to go, you can get a two day ticket for the cost of one. If you use the code "BFS" like Bigfoot society and it'll get you some off your cost. Is the Bigfoot Forum losing interest?

Any audio, video or photos posted here are stolen by internet keyboard warriors. Posting is a choice. Keep in mind that this forum is an internet message board, not a research site. I think that newbies visit expecting instant answers. There are a lot of smart people on the BFF and there is no expectation to post daily, weekly, monthly or longer. Just keep checking back. There will always be haters. Trolls self destruct on the BFF, some sooner, some later.

Well Joe @joebeelart, I have the Track Record on CD somewhere in this mess I call a house, will check into that next time I come up for air, lol! Thanks for surprising yourself and sharing. The FBI couldn't have done it to a nicer guy; about that defunct website, I sure wish Paul Harvey was present for the rest of the story! Peace out! RIP Peter! PS I almost got flattened by a rabbit hopping white tailed deer in the middle of a trout stream recently so just be glad you were a little late on that hairpin turn scenario, lol! PPS The deer made it over two waterfalls and kept on going according to a witness well above me topographically with a better view. Faster than a Bigfoot cruiser!

Great backstory. Unfortunately, I'm a terrible aficionado of art, so when I first saw your drawing I thought you encountered a Bigfoot face down in a creek somewhere.....

Well, I even surprise myself sometimes: The hillside skid sighting is Reference 56, page 143-146 in my book "The Oregon Bigfoot Highway." Unfortunately, I only put one photograph in the book. I wrote a short comparison to the "Skookum Cast" from the Gifford Pinchot. I also made a note on what Dr. LeRoy Fish thought of our sighting and photographs. Other photographs were on my website that somehow became defunct.

Sorry Bipedalist, nothing on that area from me. The late Peter Byrne frequented those haunts, but he's gone with all his knowledge and intuition. He invited me to his house for a mid-week look-a-round in about 2008. I learned he was much more than a writer. Two of his associates still frequent the hills in that area, and to the north. I've worked the Alsea valley and to the south, but mostly the area between Mt. Hood and Mt. Jefferson, and the Gifford Pinchot between Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Adams. Once in the forest SSW of Estacada I had Ray Crow and two of his foreign guests along. We found a fresh slide very similar to the one described and drawn by Doug! It had a "butt print," skid marks, hand holds, and foot imprints when it stopped it's slide. Then it ran with long steps down a logging road shoulder, crossed the road and jumped into tall trees from an embankment. Ray and his guests took a lot of time to detail the event and he reported it in "The Track Record." My recollection of the event is logged on one of the computers the FBI "seized" { through no fault of my own, so I can't give the Forum drawings, etc.} Maybe someone can look it up in the "Track Record." We probably scared the Bigfoot while it was picking huckleberries and we approached on a hairpin curve. I still go up there and wander. Found an academic paper on chimpanzees using rock on trees to communicate. I want to look a little more of that up and I will share on the Forum. Regards, and as Peter used to end, Joe here

    New Member Introductions

Hello all, I've been interested in bigfoot since I was a child, but have really been serious about the topic for about the last 15 years. I am interested in reading reports and also go in the forests near where I live looking for evidence. I am somewhat of a casting and audio nerd.
  20. Do you think contributing to this forum is making posts about hoaxes, circle jerks and insulting researchers? And this question also goes to our members that liked his post? Or where do we draw the line with “Troll derangement syndrome” as Foxhill put it? Why do you do it? Why can’t you be amicable?
  21. Tonight we will be speaking to Chuke and Todd. Chuke writes "I'm Chuke from Chuke's Outdoor Adventures. I was featured on The Alaska Triangle season 2 that can still be viewed on Discover Plus. I'm a bigfoot researcher living in Alaska and I have a weekly bigfoot show I do every Sunday on YouTube. I work regularly with Rob Roy Menzies, owner of The Bigfoot Art Gallery in Palmer and Larry Bean's Baxter author of a book on Port Chatham. I would love to be a guest on your show to talk about my investigations of sasquatch on Prince of Whales Island (where the upside-down trees are) and my sighting of a cat-like creature here in Alaska that matches the sighting of a recent guest from Oregon you had." Todd writes "Trying to get something off my chest that happened in the upper peninsula of Michigan in 1977. It’s a kind of long story. I saw the creature up close when I was 11 years old.” Spoke to the witness and he has agreed to come on the show. He said I was playing in the woods not paying attention to my surroundings and I came across this thing and this thing stood up and looked at me. The face reminded me of an old Native American but it was not human. I think it was digging for something. I was uncomfortable close. The creature looked at me in disgust and turned and walked away. At the same time I was running the opposite direction.” Listen to the Podcast
  22. Join host Jeremiah Byron with the Bigfoot Society as we dive into the extraordinary experiences of Bill Baum in East Texas. Over the course of 12 years and more than 3,000 trips into the woods, Bill has encountered Sasquatch multiple times, resulting in both curious and emotional interactions. From auditory calls to telepathic communication, Bill's journey reveals the elusive nature of these mysterious beings. Don't miss this unique insight into the world of Sasquatch, where Bill shares his personal stories, strategies, and the spiritual growth that has come from his encounters.  Sasquatch Summerfest this year, is July 11th through the 12th, 2025. Field trips 2.0

@norseman Cool. I'm down in that country (north of the border) for the first time in my life this week - the last part of BC I haven't spent time in. A few days of work in Cranbrook and Fernie, about 100 miles north of Kalispell. Man, it is beautiful down here.
  24. Thanks for the report Doug and I could visualize your climb along the elk trail and what an interesting find. Here in southwest Oregon the upper regions of Elk River near the town of Port Orford look the same as the attached picture of the area that you were in called upper Mill Creek Park.
  25. Posted 5 hours ago OK TIME TO JOIN AND BE A POSITIVE CONTRIBUTOR. I've lurked this site, quite a while and have dove deep into the archives. Frankly, it appears that the powers that be, Mods, Admins, etc. are probably the reason this site has fallen intro the septic tank . BEING A THREE STAR MAJOR, I'VE NEVER SEEN THE MODS OR GENERALS WHO HAVE 5 OR MORE STARS BE UNFAIR TO THOSE WHO RECENTLY JOINED THE FORUM. The ridiculous (in both length and proclamation) TOS is laughable. WHAT IS TOS? Mods here have gone out of there way to make newbies feel unwelcome and it looks like they lay in the weeds ready to pounce on an unsuspecting member with the ban hammer. THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN AND MANY OF THE MODS OR GENERALS WITH 5 STARS OF MORE FREELY COMMUNICATE WITH NEW-COMERS AND TREAT THEM WITH RESPECT. SOME NEWBIES HAVE HAD A CLASS A SIGHTING WHILE OTHERS SADLY WILL NOT LUCK OUT AND HAVE A SIGHTING. BIGFOOTS ARE EXTREMELY SHY AND NEVER WANT TO BE SEEN BECAUSE THEY KNOW THEY WILL BE HUNTED. THEY SMELL HUMANS BEFORE WE SEE THEM. I JOINED BECAUSE I HAD A LUCKY IN PERSON SIGHTING WHILE SLEEPING OUT IN THE NATIONAL FOREST WHILE ON A COMMERCIAL FIREWOOD CUTTING TRIP WITH MY PARTNER BILL. THIS HAPPENED A COUPLE OF YEARS BEFORE I FOUND OUT ABOUT THE FORUM. An internet power trip = a degenerate not quite ready for prime time. Many of you have ran off people who could contribute, but since they might not believe in exactly what you believe, the troll label gets slapped on someone. CAN SOMEONE DEFINE A TROLL. IS IT SOME PERSON WHO SIMPLY WANTS TO AGRAVATE AND DISRUPT. WE MAY HAVE HAD ONE MODERATOR WHO HAD AN ATTITUDE BUT I DON'T SEE RECENT POSTS FROM THIS PERSON. And, hmm, wonder why hardly anybody participates on this site?! IT'S PROBABLY BECAUSE THE PGF PATTERSON GIMLIM FILM IS GETTING OLD AND REAL UP-CLOSE SIGHTINGS ARE RARE.
  26. Welcome aboard Cedar. Can you be more explicit and explain why you think the Forest Service is well aware of Bigfoots? My sighting report from 1980 is in the sighting section, Pacific Northwest b
  27. "The U.S. Forest Service had an equivalent of 31,147 full-time employees in fiscal year 2022. While specific data on the number of wildlife biologists within that workforce isn't readily available, wildlife biologists are a key part of the agency's work, focusing on research, habitat management, and monitoring of wildlife populations. The Forest Service employs both permanent and seasonal staff, with28,330 permanent employees in FY 2008 and 4,488 seasonal employees. The U.S. Forest Service manages 193 million acres of land. This includes 155 national forests and 20 national grasslands. The Forest Service also helps steward approximately 900 million forested acres in the U.S. " google. I am going to guess that ten percent of the 31,147 full time employees or 3114 employees spent most of their time in the woods and traveling back roads in the forest where bigfoot makes its home. One of their jobs is to inspect stands of forest trees for potential logging projects. Do you think that Forest Service employees would be encouraged to make public reports of bigfoot sightings? Why or why not? If bigfoot was classified as an endangered species what would happen to timber production? "The Endangered Species Act (ESA), enacted in 1973, is the primary U.S. law protecting and conserving threatened and endangered species. It aims to prevent species from going extinct by requiring the federal government to list species as endangered or threatened and develop recovery plans. The ESA also prohibits the "take" of listed species, which includes actions like harming or killing them," google.
