The first short clipping is from a column named Centex At A Glance published in the Waco (TX) Tribune-Herald on October 28, 1962. The second is from the San Angelo (TX) Standard-Times on July 23, 1969.

From the Fort Worth (TX) Star-Telegram on September 6, 1959. Included in this collection because at least one book (which I'm not naming so as not to encourage anyone reading it) mentions "the Lake Worth monster." The 1940s had a Lake Worth monster that was a sea serpent (actually a clever hoax using a tire inner tube, which might have been novel for the time) and the 1950s had this Lake Worth "monster."

This is the Jersey Devil story I grew up with on books ordered through my grade school's Scholastic Books program. This story is from the Trenton (NJ) Evening Times on January 21, 1909.

Hello 👋🏼 Mrs Bigfoot , I have been approved of since last year as a new member, but just wasn’t getting any new emails. I hope you are doing well . Yes , I believe there are Bigfoot or Sasquatch beings . I also believe, like so many other people that Sasquatch and Dogman are some type of Alien Hell Demons . Everyone to their own accord. Everyone has a right to believe what they want to believe. I’m not judging others . I no longer stay outside after dark by myself nor do I want to travel in the dark alone . I’ve had very unusual experiences in the past . I have prayed and ask God to protect me and to block scary things like these from my vision. I have not seen this film, and will not, but I will speculate about it within the overall history of sasquatchery since 1955 (the Jerry Crew event). Firstly, it is most similar to the Greg Long book thus far. Long's book was an immediate hit with the skeptic community, and it became their bible. Since its publication, it rose quickly in prominence, but since has been roundly considered a hoax in and of itself among all who give it any measure of honest consideration. The skeptic community still tries to defend it amongst themselves, but appear to be True Believers by many, and the scientific community pretty much ignores them. Indeed, there is increasing interest in the phenomenon by the scientific community, especially the DNA field, and this probably frightens the skeptic community. Secondly, the commercial side of sasquatchery is exploding. Cartoonish and AI sasquatches are all over YouTube and commercial products. My grandson bought me Bigfoot shampoo and hair conditioner for my birthday last fall. It's nuts. My family buys me Bigfoot T-shirts all the time. If sasquatches exist or not in biology, they clearly exist in fantasy and imaginations BIG TIME, and it's growing. This alone is crushing the skeptic religion. They're done in the short term regardless of "discovery". That's the primary reason why I speculate that this film is desperation, and may even be the reason why they produced it. They know they're on the ropes.

It’s fair to suspect once again “faces” are safe from being “melted”. Nothing “ face melting” about any revelation other than an initial hype. I’ll consider whatever is put forward but continue to suspect this is 1) no big deal if legit and 2) probably not legit

^^^ Surprising that the documentary exposing a major hoax pulled on the news media, Americans, and the world hasn't been snapped up like a Denny's Grand Slam special and been broadcast on 20 different channels already, isn't it. I forget, do we have an official sarcasm font here?

So sorry to hear this news. You are in our thoughts and prayers!🙏❤️ And thank you for sharing your story. I too think that the Government isn’t telling us the truth. And much of my opinion is based on researching giant skeletons.

Weston writes "I live in the northern part of South Carolina, and for the first five or six years my wife and I were together, we went hiking or camping almost every weekend. We loved exploring waterfalls and trails across the surrounding states. A lot of the time we chose remote areas where we wouldn't run into many people. The day this happened was different. We were visiting Crabtree Falls in North Carolina, a very popular waterfall along the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It's still remote in the sense that it's deep in the mountains, but it's a well-known destination, especially in the summer which is when we were there. This was in late July of 2016, well before Hurricane Helene, so all parts of the trail were open. The hike to the falls is about 2.5 to 3 miles round trip. About halfway in, there's a spot where water runs down the mountain and crosses the trail. It spreads across a wide rocky area, with large boulders lining both sides as far up as we could see. Curious, we decided to step off the main trail and climb alongside the water to see where it led. We thought maybe there was another waterfall upstream or at least we'd discover where this sizable creek originated. We climbed straight up those rocks for about half a mile. Eventually, we started hearing what sounded like a fairly large waterfall. We figured we were close and also that we probably weren't supposed to be there. There were signs everywhere warning hikers not to leave the trail, and by then we were well off it. I was climbing ahead in case my wife needed help navigating the rocks. When we reached the top of a large boulder near the sound of the falls, I pulled myself up and immediately froze. At the base of a waterfall roughly 25 or 30 feet tall, something enormous was crouched near the bottom, about five feet above the creek it fed into. At first, I couldn't process what I was looking at. I just knew it was huge. My wife hadn't crested the rocks yet, but she could tell something was wrong. I could hear her asking what was happening, but I couldn't respond. I couldn't move. I was staring at the back of this thing, crouched low. I knew it wasn't a bear, and that realization locked me in place. It didn't seem to know we were there. The roar of the waterfall likely masked our approach. And since everyone else was a mile below at the main waterfall, it probably didn't expect anyone to come up that way. Then my wife climbed up beside me. The moment she saw it, she screamed. The creature turned toward us and rose to its full height in one fluid motion. It made a deep, guttural grunting sound. That's when I understood what I was seeing and my fear went from paralyzing to overwhelming. I had never been that terrified in my life. As it stood there, I became aware of a strange pressure in my ears, like being underwater at the bottom of a deep pool. I could barely hear my wife screaming beside me. I'm not sure whether the pressure began when it saw us or when it stood and made that sound, but it persisted the entire time it was in view. The creature was over seven feet tall I'm certain of that. In high school, I had a close friend who was 6'10", and I saw him every day for two years. I know what seven feet looks like. This thing was taller than him, and it was only about 40 or 50 feet away. Its hair appeared auburn at the tips, possibly darker closer to the skin. Its skin itself looked charcoal-colored. I didn't get a good look at its hands, but I clearly saw its face and it's something I wish I could forget. Its head tilted slightly to the left as it made that grunting noise. When it moved, it did something no human could have done. In a single step, it crossed the creek and dropped from its crouched position about five feet down to creek level without jumping, slipping, or stumbling. The rocks were large and slick, but it moved effortlessly. Then, within just a few more strides, it went up the mountain and disappeared. As it moved, I noticed its proportions more clearly. Its knees stayed bent as it walked, and its legs seemed short relative to its torso. Its arms looked long in comparison, especially the forearms, which appeared longer than what I'd consider normal for a human. The proportions were wrong, almost exaggerated. It was over quickly, but it felt much longer. Once it was completely out of sight, the pressure in my ears finally faded. We didn't camp there that night like we'd planned. In fact, we stopped hiking and camping altogether for quite a while after that. It's something my wife and I will never forget." Listen to the Podcast

Do y'all remember the old saying, " If you keep doing the same thing over and over, you'll keep getting the same outcome"? I think that's a lot of the problem. People assume or believe they know what bigfoot is so they keep looking for physical evidence, which at this point, will have to be a body. I don't think that will work either and I'll tell you why. I've kept this opinion under wraps for years but I'm dying of metastatic breast cancer that has now spread to major organs, so I don't have much time left to tell the tale. Many years ago, I went to Selma, Alabama to investigate a giant skeleton on display in a restaurant that was supposedly Cheif Tuscaloosa. For those who aren't familiar, Cheif Tuscaloosa was documented by the Spanish to be over 8 feet tall. I suspected that this skeleton wasn't human or some historic Indian Chief, so I went on down to Selma to check it out. The owner of the restaurant provided the documentation from the US government that the skeleton was over 7 feet tall. They took that skeleton for further study, but what they returned was obviously a human skeleton typical of what you would find in an anatomy class in school. I measured the skeleton and it was only slightly taller than me. These medical school skeletons can sometimes be a conglomeration of bones from different people. I took a toe bone for DNA analysis but after talking to a well-known geneticist we decided it wasn't worth the effort to do DNA testing based on what I found. The point I'm getting at is that no matter what you believe bigfoot to be it is a real phenomenon. I say that because the government obviously swapped out those skeletons and sent a regular human skeleton back to the owners instead of the original skeleton. I'm pretty sure the documents that she showed me were legitimate, she did not realize the skeleton was swapped out until I examined it and it didn't fit the measurements on the documentation. The government wanted that original skeleton for a reason, now what they found out is anyone's guess. The same will happen if someone manages to obtain a type specimen. All I can say is when you look down into the abyss, it certainly looks back at you. Keep that in mind as you continue your quest for truth. I think the government knows what they are and it is probably nothing that we assume it to be. I think people that are interested in bigfoot get bored with the same results, or lack of results, that happens over and over again when you simply look for physical evidence, keeping the focus and assumptions about a being so narrow.
