Just look at our closest extinct cousin. Shorter. Way more robust. Now imagine something still bipedal but even larger and more robust. Would love to know more about Denisovans. They are truly a species that is in the right place at the right time to cross the land bridge before Homo Sapiens. Or it’s not closely related to us at all. It’s coming out of left field. Anyhow I thought Darden could put some perspective into supposed Sasquatch strength.

Gimlin talked about the Bulk. Last time I was in St. Liois Zoo I spent about 30 min just watching a great ape who was just eating. This was the outside area of an indoor-outdoor enclosure. I was struck by just how Massive this thing looked. Even at a distance I knew not to mess with it. Makes me wonder If I was to asked the next 100 people how tall the gorilla was if they would say, "7 or 8 feet" It SEEMED big, thus tall. Average gorilla is 5' 7'' tall. Not taller than this famous 6-footer....

In the PGF/McClarin comparison? Its not Pattys height that shocks me. Its her bulk. A gorilla is shorter than us but is twice our weight. Patty and Jim are similar heights albeit Patty has a hunched shuffle gait. So she is most assuredly taller than Jim. But Jim looks like a stick figure by comparison. His waist is just one of her thighs. There is only so much SFX can do with a suit. Anyhow legend says Darden picked up 1200 lbs and carried it one mile. Imagine what a large male Sasquatch could do.

If people were 9 Foot tall on average, this person wouldn't be special or known. Obviously, it is his out-of-range height/ size making him noteworthy like an Andre' the Giant. People obsess about Patty's height in the PGF with the idea if we could just prove Patty is an outrageous height it would nearly prove Patty can't be a person in a suit. If Patty was some taller height, such as 6'6'' tall, it still requires a reasonably tall person to fit into the suit. People over 6 foot were only slightly less common in the 1960's but you could find a tall person if you needed. Heck, Jim McClarin at 6'5''. Jim McClarin in an ape costume should make the result 6'7'' or more. In the 1970s Land of the Lost, they had future Detroit Piston Bill Lambeer in a Sleestak Costume. (It pains me as a Boston Celtic fan to even mention this guy). Obviously, they needed height of the Sleestak figure the same way we might assume any PGF Patty would need to be tall. Bill Lambeer would not be chosen to be Chaka: A typical Bigfoot hoax wouldn't have to look too far to find some "Tall Guy" However, this doesn't account for the many other factors needed to be a suit. This even assumes Patty is 6' 1'' tall and we don't know. The height issue isn't settled just yet.

He was considerably bigger than even Andre the Giant. It really does make you wonder what something 8+ft. could weigh and how strong they would be. I remember reading a BFRO report by an elk hunter a few years ago that I haven't been able to find again, but I can recall the main parts. We would just have to assume he was telling a true account. The elk hunter used an ATV and went along a path to get to his spot. At one point he had to cross a small creek. One morning he said he found a big log blocking his path right at the creek. He was able to get around the log and continue on. However, the next morning he found two more logs in place, in addition to the first one. He did some looking around and said the logs did not come from right around that small area. I think he said the trees around there were not the same type as the logs. Here is the interesting part. He said the logs were too big and heavy for one person to have dragged it there. And were far too heavy for two people to have picked it up and carried it there. To assume the story was true, it makes you wonder just what put those logs there, and how they got them there. He didn't mention anything about machinery, but I think it was a bit of a remote area, and apparently there was no sign of any machinery having been there. I don't think there were any signs of anything having been there except for his ATV. I'm not certain but I don't think it was private land.

Hello Bigfoot curious ones, I’m addicted to watching Bigfoot documentaries and find it so fascinating and I’m the only one out of my friends who truly believes in these inter dimensional beings, I just love all things Bigfoot and love hearing about encounters and experiences x ( from Scotland uk )

Like Sherman marching through Georgia (too soon?) The Bridgeton (NJ) Evening News reports on the Jersey Devil's march on January 22, 1909. According to an article in the Atlantic City (NJ) Daily Press on January 22, 1909, the Jersey Devil also took to the sea and air.

I suggest that the plural of "bigfoot" is "bigfoot."

Interesting, but I take exception to the species ever being considered near extinction. "Elusive" and "extinct" aren't necessarily synonymous. I also have doubts that the species will ever be photographed/recorded in their natural environment. Too elusive, too difficult an environment to capture naturally. I suspect will ever be the realm of artistic rendering. But it does boggle the imagination to mentally picture their pursuit and predation by deep-diving, enormous sperm whales. (Now I'm curious, given the forum's odd automatic censorship, whether it will publish the species of whale mentioned, as I click the "submit" button.)

^^^ For bigfoot to be filmed there would have to be many factors in favor of the person with the camera. Guessing those factors is one trick. Then, even if one had all those things done perfectly, it still needs to occur in a world. Bigfeet are likely very few in number AND the area to look is extremely big. Put those factors together and it becomes nearly impossible. This point is illustrated in the movie Castaway: Chuck Noland "That's a search area of 500,000 square miles. That's twice the size of Texas. They may never find us". The task of seeing Bigfoot let alone getting one on camera is an uphill climb. I will admit the giant squid lives and operates in an area so extremely big and hostile it may as well be outer space. Yet, if a light or some food attracts one to a camera, you caught the image of an elusive creature. Figure the formula and getting one becomes less elusive. Anything to increase the odds: In Pixar’s Up, Russell uses chocolate — specifically chocolate bars and chocolate-covered strawberries — to lure the giant bird Kevin out of her treehouse and into his company

Hyperbole aside, 2012 is the date that the discovery bore fruit... The point stands, at some point, we'll figure out how to observe these animals in their native habitat, then they'll revert to just another curious creature in the woods like bear or wolves.

Giant squid are huge, the size of a school bus. They're extinct or nearly so, right? Impossible to film. Never before seen in their natural habitat? Health Update: Still fighting this stomach bug. Starting to feel better. I will return next week. I wanted to play a reloaded episode of one of my favorite intros. Ben writes "Well I finally got up the nerves to send this, back in 2015 I was a Jr in high school. My buddy had called me to see if I wanted to hangout and see his new toy. The toy was a Jeep Wrangler YJ that was abandoned. Even more interesting it was abandoned by a gentlemen that later that same year went to his friends house and shot him. He had some issues I guess. So whilst we went out there we swapped from my brothers truck to mine and proceeded to meet them in the woods. So this is Sweden Maine where he found this. Kinda middle of nowhere. So we get to the Jeep and my friend and my brothers friend go out in the Jeep, leaving my brother and I with my pickup in this clearing. We noticed it was very quiet where we were. Right about then is when a gum ball sized rock landed between us. We looked at each other and played it off. Both kinda bothered we agreed to go towards the entry of the trail to get out of there. (Guess it felt safer) well when we got a little further down the trailer my brother pulled over. (He always drove) it was getting dark probably like 6:30-7pm in May. When I jumped out I looked at this tree too admiring the sky. I saw an entire flock of birds fly out of this tree. I proceeded to slowly drop my head looking down the tree the whole time. When I got to the middle of the tree is when I saw something. I saw a figure in the woods. Left arm and leg obscured by the tree looked as if it's left palm was against the tree. It was rocking slightly, it had a long arm that I could see on its right side and a big build. I couldn't see the feet but the head, shoulder, torso, and leg all on the left was clearly visible (as a silhouette). It was rocking slightly left to right and could see it breather. I looked at my brother and he was frozen looking at it. I asked him "what is that?" He only responded with "get in the truck" I looked back and it was still standing there swaying. I looked back at my brother and said again "what the f— is that?" To which my brother responded with "get in the f—— truck." My door was still open so I kinda dove backwards into it. My brother quickly had it started and the clutch already out and fishtailing away. I couldn't bring myself to look backwards. But we were spooked. There was an interesting situation with a set of lights behind us upon our escape but I'm not sure what to make of it. We called the friends that we were leaving so they either had to ditch the Jeep or drive it back to his house. Oddly they too sounded distressed. But they agreed to meet on the trail. We flew back down the trail driving way faster than anyone should. We came up to them and they stuffed the Jeep in the woods. What caught my attention next was they ran and I mean RAN to my truck, keeping a hand on my hood the whole time. I slid up against my brother so to make room for them. It was a regular cab. We drove out of there and my brother and I not wanting to get played asked them why they were so worked up. They stated to us the they had gotten stuck for a moment and whilst working it out of the mud something slapped the side of the Jeep and rocked it side to side. It was too dark for them to see anything under the heavy tree canopy and the night setting in more. It certainly was a wild time. Although I haven’t had a personal encounter myself, I’ve spent a lot of time researching the subject and watching countless videos, documentaries, witness interviews, and audio recordings. The amount of footage and sound evidence I’ve come across over the years has led me to genuinely believe there’s something real behind the Sasquatch phenomenon. Whether it’s visual evidence, vocalizations, or eyewitness accounts, I find the topic fascinating and enjoy keeping up with new discoveries and discussions.
