  2. But why would we (the Army) care? If reports are made by family members who were in in areas approved for recreational use, has there been any harm or threat of harm? If not, no military interest. Even if it were a known animal (bear), the Base Commander would only care if the animal was a threat to the community (foraging in populated areas or areas approved for recreational use) or a threat to military operations (destroying vehicles, outbuildings, interfering with training, etc.). Any number of known animals (deer, bunny rabbits, bear, elk if in that area) are probably killed by being in the wrong impact area during aerial gunnery (Lewis is a joint base w/the Air Force base next door now, + the helicopter brigade), artillery practice, tank gunnery, and crew served weapons (mortars, heavy machine guns, etc.) ranges. As to rifle ranges, the concern would likely start and stop with the question of whether people, whether military or civilian, were downrange. If a 'Squatch ambled across the M-16 range, they'd likely hold fire just because no one wants to take the chance that some clown is running around out there in a rented gorilla suit. When one gets to even a medium level of responsibility/authority in the military, one develops a good CYA gene. So if one were reviewing or approving a Report of Investigation concerning the destruction of a B-hut (plywood hut used to house Soldiers out in remote training areas) by blunt force, even if very large footprints were present in the mud, it would be written up as an apparent "act of nature" or vandalism by persons or persons unknown. No need to go out on a limb and opine on the possibility that a local 'Squatch didn't like the new temporary camp blocking access to a fishing point or something similar. All of that being said, it doesn't negate your statement that the Army (most likely the long-term civilian support staff) "knows" that it was a Bigfoot and not a bear, but that report is never get past the relevant commander's desk and is immediately going back for a re-write.

  4. Good points. I would say: a) Two or more officials, with some measure of authority, and in communication with each other about their knowledge, and........ b) Aware of proof, such as a body, testimony from subordinates of observers, or passed up information from subordinates. I base those criteria on military or international affairs (both "GIN", air government-in-nature) utilizing intelligence officers or observation patrols or expeditionary forces to gain intelligence ("knowledge"). I again opine that Ft. Lewis, WA, lands have been under Army control for over a century now, and the area/region has plenty of reports in the BFRO database, and I simply can't believe that the Army would have a population of these things as residents or even annual/frequent passerby's without looking into the matter to find out what is going on. If sasquatches exist (or existed) on Ft. Lewis between 1917-today, the Army "knows" about it.
  5. A single gov employee “knowing” (i.e. being convinced) is a million miles from a gov’t that has a body and is actively preventing people from finding out bc. What we mean by “knowing” and “government” seems important

  8. I guess the question has two sub questions a) what do you mean by government? A single government employee? If not, how many? b) what does “know” mean? Seeing on thermal? A body?

We have tested for ultrasonic and EMF and have got them damn near zero registration, we have not tested for infrasound. The only sound we know the system makes is a small mechanical click once every 45 minutes as the sensor refresh takes place. The only times we have had animals become aware are by scent ( always bear ) and feeding directly next to the camera lens and likely hearing the sensor refresh. We do occasionally highlight in stills the animals looking in the general direction but they do not actually seem aware of the system. We have videos up that seem to demonstrate they are oblivious to it in 99% of cases.
  10. As a 40yr old man from the UK, it doesn’t seem to me that interest has gone. Just finding finding Bigfoot and expedition BF. I can’t speak to how it was here but the BFF seems the best place to be right now for real discussion

Hey. From the UK. PGF got me interested. Bill Munns’ dissection convinced me of its authenticity. Along with the fact that there are hundreds if not thousands of people who say that they have sightings so close that misidentification isn’t possible, and that if any single one of those is true, it’s real, is enough to make me lean towards real.
  12. Published in the Saginaw (MI) News on December 6, 1950. This sounds more like a big feline or canine and there were numerous reports of such critters which I did not clip. However, it might be a Bigfoot.
  13. What happens when ordinary people cross paths with something extraordinary — and deadly — in the most unexpected corners of America? In this chilling episode of Bigfoot Society, Jeremiah Byron shares a raw collection of firsthand call-in encounters recorded live on TikTok. From a nine-year-old girl in frozen Ohio who hears unearthly whoops and finds massive prints beside a battered tree… to an Oregon driver shadowed along the notorious Bigfoot Highway… to a Tennessee grandfather dodging flying sticks in a swamp… to an East Texas teen who watched a towering figure ****** a wild hog in one arm… and more. You’ll travel through farmlands, swamps, mountain passes, and icy creeks — where the stench of death, shattered trees, and unnatural silences are the only warning before it’s too late. These aren’t legends. These are the stories they’ll never forget — and after you hear them, neither will you. 🗣️ Share Your Story Had a Bigfoot encounter or strange experience? Is the Bigfoot Forum losing interest?

True. A few researchers are under the radar. We should coin a new acronym: 'WMW' for weak minded woo. That is funny. The video media is simply eye candy and the content creators usually fizzle out quickly. You have some fancy gizomotronic devices. Have you checked them for infrasonic and ultrasonic noise? The reason that I ask is that one of your images on the slider is an ungulate that is aware of your equipment. Not uncommon. Plotwatchers are watched by ungulates when they trigger. And stop using those flashlights that emit red light. I am not sure of where you are working. In Washington State, the hunt is still active for the father who killed his three daughters. LE believes that he might be heading for Canada. Possible Pacific Crest Trail, north central Washington is a danger zone. Head on a swivel.
  15. First hello. I may be one of those people you mentioned. In my case, there just is not any evidence of BF in my area (north central NC) to report in the last 3-4 years. Also, I have stopped studying them as I have believe after 5-6 encounters and reading 2K plus reports I have it pretty much figured it out and honestly I do not care about the fight. Yes, BF is still out there, please leave him alone and for FFS stop running around at midnight making calls to try and lure him/her in. It does not work.

Hello, just a Michigander who's always been interested in Bigfoot. I enjoy nature walks on my 40 acres searching for possible signs and sounds. I look forward to reading others stories and hope to learn more along the way. It's nice to be amongst like minded folks!

  21. The article bot caught this story from a number of news outlets. https://www.syracuse.com/statefair/2025/08/searching-for-bigfoot-at-the-2025-nys-fair.html It caught my eye when perusing the list of vendors, considering entering our car club next year to raise interest in classic cars of the little British variety. Charles "Snake" Stuart has an exhibit at the state fair featuring a preserved "Bigfoot corpse" behind plexiglass. Includes a paid appearance by William Shatner on an old TV. Charles certainly sounds like my kind of weirdo and I hope to meet him and his clearly fake body of a Bigfoot. (Sorry, Charles.) I haven't visited yet. But I'll certainly report back if I do. The fair runs through to Labor Day, Monday the first of September in Syracuse, NY. If you do attend, grab some local delicacies, salt potatos, speedies, garbage plates, chicken riggies, etc.
  22. We ask what the DNR and other government agencies view of Bigfoot might be. Before we answer that, we have to know what Bigfoot is. This question assumes Bigfoot exists. (Skeptics, play along accordingly even though we know you don't believe). I'm guessing there are about 2 main categories of Bigfoot: 1) A primate (more like an ape) and 2) a hairy Wildman type more like a neanderthal. Option 1: Option 2: If we took a poll of those on the BFF I would guess most tend to believe Bigfoot is more like Option 1. That is, some sort of man like Ape type Primate. I would be curious to see the numbers. Those who see Bigfoot as Option 2 probably have a stronger belief the Government knows a lot more than it is telling us. (That position could still be true for either option). It is my understanding Roger Patterson felt Bigfoot was more like Option 2. I don't know if Roger ever changed that opinion after he 'got the sucker' on film.
  23. Tonight’s guest, Karl Sieling, had his Bigfoot sighting in 1976 while he was walking down a set of railroad tracks, in a heavily forested area, near Newtown, Connecticut. When his sighting happened, he was on the way to his buddy’s house. Sometimes, he would walk or bike about a mile and a half to his buddy’s house, using roads in the area. This day, he decided to walk on a set of train tracks that ran right past his house, through a forest and then right past his buddy’s house. If he walked the tracks, instead of taking roads in the area, he’d save himself about a half mile on the trip. He had walked those tracks, to his buddy’s house, numerous times before without any incident. This time, however, his walk would be anything but uneventful. If you’ve had a Sasquatch sighting in Kentucky that you’d like to share with Karl, please go the Connecticut Bigfoot Research Facebook Page, at https://www.facebook.com/groups/582437174638861/ or contact him via email, at CTBigfootResearch@gmail.com If you’ve had a Sasquatch sighting and would like to be a guest on the show, please go to BigfootEyewitness.com and let me know. 25. Tirademan's thread of historical news articles in the archives is opaque - sometimes the post just says, "here's another one," without any information as to location, date, or description included and no attachment. This article could very well have been one that he posted, but I'm not sure. It was published in the Lansing (MI) State Journal on July 13, 1950.
  26. Published in the Ann Arbor (MI) News on August 23, 1949 This is how looking for historical newspaper articles goes - you have a keyword, a location, and a date range and don't find the article(s) you were looking for, but instead find 10 others you knew nothing about.
  27. I was searching for some stories outside of my primary area of interest, the northeast US and eastern Canada, and I found this one. It sounded familiar and a search of the Forums found Forums member roguefooter appears to have first published it here - by copying and pasting the text apparently - in 2013. Herewith is that story as published in the Leavenworth (KS) Daily Commercial on November 17, 1870.
