I voted "yes" on the poll. I can't speak to the others, but as for "where" I am as relates to this discussion....frankly, I got bored. Now don't take offense, but here we are at 13 pages and that's a bit much considering it appears to me the discussion has degenerated into ...what? Three or so members going back and forth, repeating themselves if not word for word by in general gist of their positions, and not saying anything that should be said like, "This is tedious so we should agree to disagree." Especially when you get into the territory of taking carefully worded pot shots at each other. Criminy, if we were at the local tavern, I'd tell you both to change the subject because you're getting nowhere with each other and order another round so we could discuss something less prickly like politics.

I voted "no". Like @CelticKevin, I'm bored with the discussion. It's the same people saying the same thing over and over across seemingly dozens of threads. After some amount of time, it comes to me that silence is the best option. It's not agreement or capitulation to the same old drivel, it's .. fatigue. MIB

Discovered, yes. Disclosure is not necessary. Yup. And if only one entity knows of them, it's their qualifiers that qualify. Everybody else's don't. Why would it? You may "hunt" them. Well. I don’t drive a Batmobile and have a blood oath or anything….. But I know plenty of buddies that wouldn’t be snapping pictures. Me included. So the statement kinda reminds me of Bacdoc…. Why would the government care about Bigfoot? He is applying his own morality unto others. Why would anyone harm Bigfoot? Ummm there are lots of people that would kill Bigfoot in a heart beat. When they go into heat they prance and snort and whinny and pay more attention to the boys around them than they do about the trail. Inevitable this always happens during Elk season. I think mares plan it out on purpose. Mules are the best. Either sex because they are almost always sterile. The boys are cut anyhow. Then Geldings. Mares last.

Because nobody has the power to change it. There's an old saying that you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. This is especially true when that horse is government.

And that makes them unique and different from other wild animals how? Should be enough time. Care to start it off? Or maybe ask Meldrum, Mayor, Randles, Moneymaker, Barackman, Coleman, or anyone else to get one going on your behalf?. Nah, never mind. They won't do it. No one will. And virtually no one sees the truth as an issue. I'm dumbfounded. I've taken the thing as far as I think one random person can. But there's zero people helping out and no offers to. That's even more dumbfounding. It's been a real eye opener for me over the last four years on just how amazingly non-important this subject really is to nearly everyone. I think it's probably just as un-important to proponents as "Backdoc" says it is to government.

And the community, including the ones most powerful that influence the rest, are just going to stand by and watch them lose? And in North America no less?

And the last 15 years has shown that how exactly? Because I certainly haven't seen anything even remotely quick about it. Do not hold up those "abysmal" petitioners as an example of how YOU would run things if it was YOUR program. It's hard for me to understand those who criticize but do nothing to better the situation. If petitions don't bear fruit try something else. If shooting one in the last 15-20 years has failed try something else. If going remote and camping in reportedly active habitat fails after decades then try something else. If FOIA's fail then try something else. I still think taking the USFWS directly head on is the way to go but it will take a village to accomplish that and no one wants to help out. I failed. Follow up emails weren't answered. I'm on their radar. So what. I don't care. NAWAC nicked one. The GCBRO nicked one. Samples were taken. Smeja supposedly killed at least one. What ever happened with all, or ANY, of that? These are your peers. Do your homework. I already did mine. And before you or anyone else get all offended this isn't condescension. It's reality. If I don't care what gov thinks about me then you can bet your bottom dollar I care even less what this community thinks.

Actually I've been waiting a looong time for someone, anyone, to talk straight across from me. And I make NO demands. All I do is encourage members to take action and make suggestions on how to do that. For instance, one would think collecting DNA to determine a primate presence other than Human would be something that could help so I gave s all the info I could find on it and posted it on this Forum. I suggested people contact their F&W and pop the question. And yes, I did it because the ABC branches, as you say, have our secret. That's why this Forum, you included, have seen me go after the Dept. of Ag, USFS, and USFWS. I don't know where you think writing to politicians fits this at all. It's why this Forum now knows that hunting Bigfoot is a recreational activity according to the USFWS. Who else did that in the ten years that I've been a member here. That is NOT a statement coming from any high horse that I know of. It is simply a reality that anyone in the community COULD have engaged in, including the famous Bigfoot stars, and we know who they are. But I go at it alone and STILL do not understand why that is. This isn't ego tripping. It's doing work and taking risks that no one else has been willing to do in the last ten plus years that I've seen. And if telling it like it is looks like condescension to you then that's just too bad. I stopped caring what people think around here a long time ago when I took my first deep breath and started writing the feds. And I'm not done yet. So say what you will, my friend. It matters not.

You and a bunch of others have that covered. And none are dealing with the feds. Just thought I'd fill that void and cover THAT empty base.
