Guest Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 When I spoke of "the gal" in that interview I was referring to the lady that lived there. The former owner, not Leila.
masterbarber Posted March 5, 2011 Admin Posted March 5, 2011 Thank you very much for clearing that up, Derek and also to you Poly for the information about the show.
Guest RayG Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 *sigh* ... I guess that most of you have never heard of "Waltzing Matilda". Oh for sure. How many have heard the Log Driver's Waltz though? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ekqsHP9Sck RayG

I have, hence my reference to.........Oh never mind, 2 + 2 = 4 if you look hard enough.. I am a POME after all, like they like to call us.. Edited March 5, 2011 by BobbyO
Guest RICH G Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Great film footage is exciting to watch and will indeed go along way in gaining more support for the cause.... But with that being said films and photo's can always be hoaxed no matter how good they look they will always be scrutinized and never provable beyond any reasonable doubt. But they are fun to try and get and people want to see them. DNA data cannot be hoaxed, it is the “blueprint†of a species makeup, each individual has its own DNA profile, (accept for identical twins I believe). DNA is the best irrefutable physical evidence short of a body on a slab. You can not hoax it.
Guest Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Which is why Erickson and company are trying to get the DNA. Even if the film is questionable DNA would be great in and of itself. Why would you not want to line up for something like this? I know nothing has been delivered yet, but I would rather see it coming then turn on the news one day and see the film. It is much more fun to be a part of the build up.
Guest gershake Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 If it comes out and scientists are skeptical, we can say we were the first to question it!
Guest RICH G Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Im not saying that I am not excited to see it and I hope its really good!!!!! But if it happens to be a flop or not that all convincing then dont forget that the DNA is the real prize in this thing and that there is much more to the DNA study than just the Erickson Project samples.
indiefoot Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 The quality or provenance of the video pales, IMO, to the announcement that they collected nuclear DNA and it is being tested and the findings peer reviewed. That's exciting stuff, if they have some decent video then that's icing on the cake. Can you imagine a more strenuously reviewed scientific paper? http://sasquatchthequest.com/about.html After many attempts, we perfected methods that enabled us to collect saliva, blood, and hair from several sasquatch. The mitochondrial DNA and nuclear DNA of these samples are presently being analysed. The chronicles of the study have been documented on video and are part of the documentary Sasquatch the Quest which also includes a review of the multiple evidence collected, and various scientific points of view on the subject. Upon conclusion of the peer reviewed DNA analysis by scientists the documentary will be released. -Adrian Erickson
Guest watch1 Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Can she waltz?? I just had to add this one to the Waltz. Lovers Waltz Played expertly. Mike (watch1)
gigantor Posted March 6, 2011 Admin Posted March 6, 2011 The quality or provenance of the video pales, IMO, to the announcement that they collected nuclear DNA and it is being tested and the findings peer reviewed. I'll point out again...
Guest Cervelo Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Pointy teeth and eyes that don't blink........oh boy this is going to be good!
indiefoot Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 I'll point out again... I'm excited that we're not staring at an empty nest.
gigantor Posted March 6, 2011 Admin Posted March 6, 2011 (edited) Indie, we're staring at a big publicity stunt. I hope it is followed by substantial evidence. I have no predisposition one way or the other. I'm simply saying that the pattern we are seeing is a familiar one. I have seen this setup many times before. Again, it is my utmost wish that the hype is justified. I can hardly wait! Edited March 6, 2011 by gigantor
Guest RICH G Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 As far as the DNA study goes I can tell you that the "hype" is definitely justified. Everyone that worked on this thing to include the groups or individuals that submitted samples worked really hard but no one harder than Dr. Ketchum herself. I don’t know about the Erkcison film, but as far as the DNA study goes it is not another one of those built up things with a let down at the end. No one has ever done anything that is even close to what Dr. Ketchum has done. This whole thing is truly amazing. I know waiting is difficult but it is even harder when you know things about your own samples and you can’t tell anyone about them. I am definitely not trying to take anything away from the Erickson Project but people seem to connect the Erickson Project and the DNA Study as one and the same. There are many groups involved in this project and NABS was the first as far as I know. The Olympic Project submitted its first sample in late 2009, but I think the project had already been going on well before we got involved.
