New York 1881 - Mysterious Beast Near Florida (NY) - Tirademan!

I ran across a more fulsome (albeit not inherently more trustworthy) article published a little over two weeks after this one. Of note, neither newspaper is from a town located anywhere near the reported encounter.  Additionally, this article relies upon an article in another newspaper, which got the information from someone in New Jersey.  The lake in question should be Glenmere Lake, which is just southeast of the village of Florida (NY), not Glen Moor Lake. 

 

 

UPDATE 7 August 2025: I did not know it at the time that I posted this, but Tirademan found this article.  However, he uploaded it in the New Jersey Encounters thread, likely not realizing that the encounter itself occurred in New York.
