Trogluddite Posted September 23, 2025 Posted September 23, 2025 (edited) Published in the Progress, Lewisburg (PA) Journal on October 29, 1920. Many newspaper articles about Doerr Terrace ape were published in Bigfoot in Pennsylvania by Timothy Renner. Notice that while a vagrant was arrested and blamed for the "ape," the constable declared that he found footprints of "an ape of no small dimensions." UPDATE 22 June 2026: I am cleaning out old files and was dissatisfied with the quality of this clipping. When I searched for it again, the earliest report that I could find was published in Oklahoma City (OK)'s Oklahoma Daily Live Stock News on October 1, 1920. Edited June 23 by Trogluddite To improve chronology. To include the earliest available report.
Trogluddite Posted September 23, 2025 Author Posted September 23, 2025 Or was the ape this man, arrested for vagrancy and charged with attacking two girls? This story occurred much closer in time to the events at Doerr Terrace; the article was published in The Pittsburgh (PA) Press on August 26, 1920.
