New York 1500s - The Stone Giants

Unfortunately, I don't have the publication for either story - the first was actually from a Scottish paper in the early 1800s; the second was widely printed in the early 1900s in newspaper sections designed for children.

 

EDIT 31 May 2026: An Indian Stone Giant Story was published in the Glasgow (Scotland) Daily Mail on September 21, 1870.  Still haven't found the publication data for the second story.
