New York 1896 - Wild Man Sightings Near Shawangunk Were Just Insane Union Soldier

Published in the Syracuse (NY) Herald-Journal on February 1, 1896.  While the individual captured was clearly a human, his capture does not explain prior reports of wild creatures covered with hair.  There is a BFRO report from Ulster county in 1980s near Cragsmoor, which is near the Shawangunk Ridge.
