The first story was published in The (OH) Akron Beacon and Republican on April 28, 1897 and included in The Bigfoot Casebook Updated by Janet and Colin Bord.  The second story, which makes the suspect sound more like a human for want of long hair and other beastly features, was published in the The Cleveland (OH) Plain Dealer on
