Washington 1876 - Explorer Nearly Captures Juvenile ... Something

Again from the Southern Oregon History Page, published in The Morning Oregonian of Portland (OR) on November 11, 1876.  After a bit of searching, I believe that the location is actually Woodard's Bay, which is off of the Henderson Inlet and near the South Bay neighborhood of Olympia.
