Included in SASQUATCH/BIGFOOT CHRONICLE & Other Unrecognized Relict Hominoids & Wild Men Earliest Reports to 1899 by Christopher L. Murphy (Unpublished).  While this story was published in The Oregon Daily Journal on August 14, 1963, that article does not mention where they located the underlying story.
