Guest SquatchinNY Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 In the Minnesota eisode of FInding Bigfoot, Ranae stated that a squatch couldn't get 12' tall (or something like that) because once it passed a (certain hieght), it would have problems with circulation to it's feet.
Guest Chefsquared Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 I've heard of 10-15 footers, I can't remember where I heard it..maybe a podcast or a random read...pretty big. BF should consult Ranae for a circulation specialist and maybe a podiatrist...:>).. Depending on genetic makeup, diet, and living space, I don't think anyone knows. I'm sure someone here has insight
Incorrigible1 Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Do you know just how immensely huge a 12' creature would be? I'm pretty durned skeptical of anything that large.
GuyInIndiana Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 At some point in this thread it will be pointed out that "someone" made a report of a sasquatch that was "x" tall, and it will seem reasonable. Then someone will top that. Then someone else will try and top that. Eventually, common sense will tell you when to draw the line at simply accepting a claim because "someone said so."
Guest OntarioSquatch Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Ranae stated that a squatch couldn't get 12' tall Hopefully Ranae has been able to measure all their heights before claiming that

The height gets taller due to the element of the unknown and excitement level at the time. Guest JiggyPotamus Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 I would think that 12' would be pushing the "natural" limits of height, and most probably fall somewhere short of that mark. But, I don't really know obviously. I do think that it is quite ill-advised to ignore claims of 14-15' tall sasquatch though, because so many questions remain unanswered. Their height limit is going to be determined by their genetic makeup, and discounting conditions such as gigantism or other hormonal conditions, most will fall within a certain limit. I would think that it should at least be considered that if there are quite a few reports of extra-tall sasquatch, then their population might be larger than most expect. I don't know how many really tall sasquatch have been reported accurately, but if the number were large, I would think it is possible that their population must be large, since there must be an adequate number of animals for such deficiencies to crop up. But this is all speculation of course, and for now just another possibility...right there along with wookies and aliens from space. Although I find my suggestion a little more believable, lol.
Guest Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Just for fun I'll pull this graphic out one of the BFF member's made. (I think Crowlogic) The man is 5 ' 8". The Bigfeet are 8, 10, and 12 feet tall respectfully.
Guest Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 I think 10-11 feet tall would be the limit. A 12-15 foot tall Sasquatch is absolutely massive, a true giant.
Guest Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Here's the tallest human for which there is concrete evidence (8'11.1"): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Wadlow an average human is about 5'9.2" http://pediatrics.about.com/cs/growthcharts2/f/avg_ht_male.htm that makes the tallest man ~1.5-1.6x taller than average Let's apply that to Sasquatch with an average reported height of 8' That would make the tallest theoretical squatch consistent with what is known about bipedal physiology ~12-13'. Before someone brings up circulation problems, keep in mind that that is for a HUMAN. BF anatomy is designed to support a larger creature, which logically implies better circulation to the limbs than in humans.
salubrious Posted June 11, 2012 Moderator Posted June 11, 2012 I saw one that was 10 feet, and I have something to measure it by, my truck. Seated on its rear it was all of 6 feet. And yes it was huge- took up the whole lane that I was in. Its hard to imagine that there are bigger ones out there, but at the same time, its not likely that I happened to see the biggest one in the US either...
salubrious Posted June 11, 2012 Moderator Posted June 11, 2012 No, it was right beside it. And I was inside and glad for it.
Guest poignant Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 (edited) I guess one way to look at it is like an uncontacted pygmy tribal saying that man could never grow past six feet. If nature hadn't already figured out how to efficiently transport blood around a 10+ ft frame believe me they wouldn't be 10+ ft for more than a few generations. I guess we'll need a body or just go with eyewitness testimony for now. *edited for good manners* Edited June 11, 2012 by poignant

I like the comparison, except that I'd rather pin down the average reported height to 6' - 7' feet, which would make the tallest theoretical squatch 10' tall.
