norseman Posted February 6, 2013 Admin Share Posted February 6, 2013 Here is a scenario. Two researchers come upon a bigfoot going to the bathroom. One person has a good HD camera while the other has a thermal camera and they are both recording. The bigfoot finishes and then sees the researchers so he runs full speed up a steep hill. That is something that can not be faked and they can get DNA evidence and possible footprints from it running. That's my goal anyway. So not only are you searching for a Bigfoot the most elusive creature in N. America, but your searching for one that needs to have a bowel movement? And your going to film it the exact moment it happens? Good luck with that.
Guest
Norseman, I didn't say it would actually happen, lol. Awhile back some friends and I were talking about the $10,000,000 bounty that Spike tv is going to do and we were wondering how to get it without killing one. I came up with the scenario I mentioned above, and we laughed, and said well that should definitely prove it. I think that is one of the only ways to prove it without killing one. Nothing wrong with having lofty goals. Nice guy, although I agree that would certainly add some great comedy to the video, I will leave that out of my goal since I will be the one in the line of fire in that situation. It would be good though.
Guest
Is Jim from Mutual and Omaha's Wild Kingdom still alive? " While Jim attemps to subdue the 800 lb. Sasquatch, will watch from the helicopter." Marlin would always be in the studio and poor Jim would be out there getting his butt kicked by some animal. I loved that show. I don't understand, with all the technology, no one can make a night vision camera that charges its batteries with solar, and up stream the video to the net for all to watch all the time? Doesn't sound like the impossible to me.
Guest
Jim wrestling the 25 foot anaconda while Marlin Perkins watched and commented! Can we take one down with a tranquilzer dart? Might need a team to protect the researchers from the other angry bigfoot watching from the shadows.
Djj
I almost think you would need a live capture to get the proof.
Explorer
BFF Members- I belong to a group seeking protection in the way of hunting regulations and have been in contact with Ca. DF&W and my assemblyman. They want two things to process any documents thru the Administrative Law offices. DNA and proof showing that a least one Sasquatch lives within the boundaries of Ca. So DNA. As far as alternative ? Let me just point out as we all probably know, that the differance between evidence and proof. Of course it also matters what you want to do with any proof. PTangier, Not sure if you are member of Premium section, but there is a very interesting PDF file from the California Fish & Game Training Bulletin - Oct. 2000 on legal issues of hunting BF in CA. It was a letter from Lawrence Allen CDAA Circuit Prosecutor to the District Attorney of Tinity County. It spells out all the laws currently available that they could use to prevent anybody from hunting BF in CA. After reading, it appears that Trinity County DA will go after anybody trying to shoot or shooting at BF there. I was surprised that even what the habituators are doing (feeding and baiting BF to get close and personal) would be considered illegal according to that legal letter. Sorry I can't forward or attach PDF file since it is against premium rules to post documents from that section into regular forum. But, I highly recommend reading it since it provides an interesting view on BF from Ca F&G (even tough it is dated from back in 2000). Explorer
If BF is real, it should not be impossible to film it in its natural environment. It has been very difficult with little to show so far, but it should not be impossible. Even if BF is as smart as a human (which it isn't because they don't have fire or technology), we should be able to film them. Obviously, current methods are not working. So some new methods need to be developed. Below are some scifi kind of ideas (just brainstorming). Maybe in the near future, new technology will allow development of flying micro-robots (or mabye call them micro drones) (the size of a fly) with HD camera and we can send thousands of these thru a targeted forest wilderness area and let them operate 24/7 and send video remotely. These micro-robots will not disrupt BF habitat and will be difficult to detect by them. They can also cover a huge area and will be very inexpensive (wishful thinking in my part ). They will also have face/body recognition software, and once a BF is found, all others will fly to that section and film habitat 360 degrees. These thousands of video will be fully available in web to the public with no editing.

Guest
We've been through this, DNA will probably get the scientific community very interested in the species, maybe even recognized and proven. But we need a legitimate full body corpse, a type specimen.

Guest
Explorer, it's already in the works. The first link is an article on a US surveillance drone that looks like a mosquito and it's smaller than the hummingbird in the video. Maybe one day far in the future I can afford one. http://www.presstv.i...ito-spy-drones/
Guest
A good quality video or a thermal video captured with an air drone or helicopter... The Stacy Brown Jr. footage is pretty darn good imho. I think it's mighty impressive. What I wouldn't give for a FLIR camera!!!
