TD-40 Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 This season I have seen MM call "hoax" more times than in other seasons. He called hoax on tonight's episode of the go-karts riding around a track in PA. I thought for sure they would call it legitimate. Even Ranae is surprised that she is agreeing with him. Makes me wonder if they have gotten a message about being too gullible and losing credibility?
Guest JiggyPotamus Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Absolutely not. Every one of the four cast members, except Renee to my knowledge, have had a personal sighting experience. It would simply be foolish, basically a denial of reality, to change their belief after they have already had their personal question answered in the most verifiable way possible, which is a personal encounter. I was thinking the other day about just how strange Renee's point of view is sometimes on various sasquatch related issues, but mostly I am speaking of the interviews they conduct. There have been multiple interviews conducted by the team, and Renee usually dismisses them as misidentifications or hoaxes, even when the witnesses are adamant about what they saw. Occasionally she will say she has no explanation for a person's encounter, and the encounter with the kid who was hunting alone in the woods comes to mind...At least I think that is what she said on that episode. Anyway, and then there was the interview conducted with the family of 4 or 5, all of which saw the same thing, and all of whom said that what they saw could not have been anything other than a living, breathing bigfoot, yet she concludes that what they saw was a hoax. I mean really? Of course any illogical person can use the lame argument that because sasquatch does not exist, every encounter is a hoax. That is simply ridiculous. Given that this was definitely one of their most concrete sighting interviews, seeing as there were so many witnesses describing the same thing, all of whom could describe various aspects of the animal in question, I do not understand how she can conclude that this was a hoax. There was absolutely zero evidence pointing in that direction. I could understand this idea if the witnesses had given differing interpretations that did not align with one another, or if someone were caught in a lie, but there was nothing like that, and absolutely nothing to suggest these people were making up their story. They were a highly intelligent family, very articulate, and seemingly very credible. It seems to me these witnesses would have easily admitted that what they saw could have been a hoax, if indeed it could have been. But they were adamant that it was not a hoax, because they got such a good look at the animal, even describing muscle movement being visible. I think they just needed someone on the show who was skeptical, or a non-believer, which she is, and that is her job. She is probably supposed to disagree with them all the time, occasionally agreeing with them slightly to keep up ratings...This is because many people will think that if the non-believer is starting to believe, maybe there is something to this. It is a sasquatch show, and the team probably does mean well, at least most of them, but at the end of the day it is a television reality show. And TV is all about how many people tune in to the show, and the producers will not hesitate to utilize any tools at their disposal to increase ratings. I'm sure we all know the show was almost taken off the air because the cast was going to quit, because of the tricks used by the producers and/or network. So that should give a bit of credibility to the team. I think most people question MM moreso than the other guys, but I think much of that has to do with his personality. At the end of the day I think he has a legitimate interest in these animals, and enjoys gathering evidence.

Speaking of Ranae, she sure didn't give that yourng boy a break.
TD-40 Posted March 4, 2013 Author Posted March 4, 2013 That's what I mean. MM is agreeing with Renae a bit more often this season. I shouldn't say that MM is becoming more skeptical, what I should have said was MM seems to not be believing every story that they investigate like he used to. I could be wrong but I don't seem to recall him calling peoples' bluff as much in previous seasons.
Guest Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 I think there has just been more lame evidence this season. MM has been dealing with hoaxers since day one....if he was going to get flustered by them, he would of done so a long time ago.
Guest Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 He called hoax on tonight's episode of the go-karts riding around a track in PA. And of all of the things they have seen and heard, THAT video is one of a few that I would have said is 99% likely to be a real sasquatch! Go figure.
TD-40 Posted March 4, 2013 Author Posted March 4, 2013 Right. Something about the swing of the arms and the steps of the subject look like PGF to me. I was extremely surprised to see both MM and Cliff both call hoax on that video, especially since it was in PA and they're always talking about Bf in that state. Very weird they would call it a hoax outright.
Guest Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Perhaps they had some knowledge that we the viewers didn't get to see.
Guest njjohn Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 If you zoom that video in, it looks like a guy in camo jacket and slightly different pattern to the pants. The editing on that show is atrocious for not showing things they should, and misrepresenting what they show as something else.
Guest Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 (edited) I'd trust Cliff's opinion, but I have grave doubts about it, unless they do know something we the viewers don't know.. The legs just look WRONG to me. I see the shin rise percentages that differ from human. What would happen, though, if the positively did ID a sasquatch? Have they EVER done that on the show, made that definitive statement... YES, that's a sasquatch and not meant that in regards to ambiguous knocks or howls? On an actual video? Guest Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 The go cart track BF wasn't the right height to be a Squatch? That was a poor excuse because they can't all start life at the 7 feet mark. Regardless it was probably a good call and I was glad Matt doesn't see a BF behind every tree. I did like the Pa. Show more than any I have seen so far.
Guest Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 To me the mannerisms displayed by the two youths did not seam believable. Also what happens off camera we don't see so can't blame them for calling it a hoax. The PA show was great, the reaction of that little boy by the glass door was classic.
