Guest Cervelo
Questioning existence, yes. Denying a reality that others are addressing by persistent naysaying and catcalling, no. The evidence is a reality, and points in a clear direction. Should one not want to acknowledge that direction, and give no reason, well, why honor what they think, other than saying, yo bro, you, um, get to think what you want? I mean, I do do that. Yes you most certainly do! And how do the "rules of argument" govern your postion? Edited May 18, 2013 by Cervelo
Guest DWA
They are totally good with it. And now for the proof of the assertion that all this evidence is the result of clinical disorders, lies, hoaxes, etc., which I believe was the request of the OP, which goes unanswered as yet. The rules of argument dictate that I wait politely for confirmation of this extraordinary claim. Which I am doing. Guest Cervelo
So again I ask for you to produce "the rules of argument" for us all to see that prove they exist...just like Bigfoot you reference something you can't produce has very little if any real evidence other than you word they exist. Guest DWA
You might want to start with reading this: http://issuu.com/kristylabardee/docs/paranormal_gestalt_phenomena OK, that is the START. Now, for each case, what is the PROOF that this is going on? Yep, you have to. The old extraordinary-claims thing applies. I did want to note that the most cursory read of this paper reveals a host of assumptions and no underlying review of the cryptid evidence. Papers get published in psych that just wouldn't cut it in biology, and this is one. So again I ask for you to produce "the rules of argument" for us all to see that prove they exist...just like Bigfoot you reference something you can't produce has very little if any real evidence other than you word they exist. I just referred us back to the OP and the purpose of this thread. As seen above, I have begun the dialogue. Still wating for a rejoinder. Guest wudewasa
To keep on and keep on saying "it's not real it's all folklore and tales it's all crap it's not real" in the face of evidence - loads of it - that's been dragged in front of one for comment over and over and over again? Well, if that's not dismissal, you tell me what the word means to you. Loads of evidence?! Where and what of ?! Tree breaks, sounds, purported footprints, blurry photographs, witness accounts (not calling them liars, but anecdotal reports), stick "structures," unknown hair samples and tree knocks are peripheral "evidence," if not inconclusive. These ingredients for the kool aid that some drink are potent to those who want to believe, but only a type specimen will convince the rest of us. Guest DWA
Right. So I'll just dump Bindernagel and Meldrum and go with you. Oh. OK. ANSWER THE QUESTION. (While we're on Kool-Aid.) What is causing all this false positive? If you can't PROVE it, well, I'm just going with the people - like the two above, and me - who have taken a closer look at the evidence than you. But thanks. See, that you are right and we are wrong is an extraordinary claim. And I need proof of those. Edited May 18, 2013 by DWA
Guest Cervelo
Don't have to just like your "rules of argument" prove they exist... its on you/proponents to prove your claim.....talk about repetition/regurgitation you definitly need some new material. Your making the claim prove it!
Guest DWA
OK, here's the deal: you prove bigfoot is nothing but an almost totally-impossible concatenation of random false positives, and I'll prove ...um, whatever I need to prove. You know, this bone is getting worried about getting worried so much.
Guest wudewasa
Hmm I'm not saying that bigfoot doesn't exist, but a body needs to be collected for me to accept the fact of its existence.
Guest Cervelo
This isn't negotiable DWA from a scientific stand point. Again don't have to....show me Bigfoot! The answer is self evident at this point no Bigfoot has been proffered just like your "rules of argument"....it's real in your mind but you can't prove it apparently. Just like you say believe whatever you want on a personal level that's cool...made up rules of argument, Bigfoot, ghost ect ect.

Well, me too. It's just that when evidence points to something, I kind of like to see it followed up, which is how the body happens.
