Guest
LITCHFIELD, Maine — Severe ice and snow storms caused a power outage Tuesday affecting more than half a million people living in the United States and Canada. Hundreds were left fighting the cold and darkness with blankets, fireplaces and candles. But according to some people there is something hiding in the snow. A man in Litchfield, a small community located in Maine, claimed he saw a strange beast in the snow that terrorized him and his dog. “It ain’t like it used to be, this cold has become tough man…†said M. P., a single man working in construction. “The ice, the snow, yeah we used to get these before, but this is way too sudden. It has caught us by surprise, ****, it sure has.†M.P. told Cryptozoology News he was outside his house taking the dog for a fast walk, when his furry friend “went nutsâ€. It was then that they had an encounter with what the man calls “a white bigfoot.†“I reckon there wasn’t much visibility, as you can imagine with this amount of snow. But I ain’t blind, man, I know what I saw, and my dog got out of control, barking at it, he never barks this much, he was pulling me like I’ve never seen him do before. When I first noticed it I thought it was a bear or something, but that was something else. It moved fast and like a human. It was fat, huge, and it had white long hair everywhere. Looked like a white bigfoot or something, no kidding. Look I don’t believe there are bigfoots or anything here, or in America or anywhere the world, for that matter, but either that was some guy in a costume or I will have to change my mind about the whole bigfoot deal. Now, who would be willing to dress up like this in this foul weather and get run over by a car or something? No sir, that must have been some animal, only I don’t know what kind of animal it was.†He said the creature moved right in front of him and his dog, in such a fast fashion that it “seemed impossible for a human to perform a hoax like thisâ€. “It stopped right in front of us, looked at us, growled at my dog, until he stopped barking. I couldn’t see his eyes well, but they looked brown to me, but very very dark, almost black. Big mouth, like a monkey, with big sharp teeth. I tell you, a freak.†By Wonderlane CC BY 2.0The “white bigfoot†then emitted a final scream before running away into the woods. “It ran so fast. At some point I saw it using its four legs, looking back at us, but we were frozen.†The experience left M.P. petrified. “I never thought I’d get to see something like this. I’ve always laughed at all these bigfoot nuts, I had my reasons. Now I guess I’m the crazy one here. Unless it was a very good hoax played on me, that could be, but I tell you again, it ain’t easy for a man to make those kind of moves. That didn’t look human to me.†He said he looked for hair but it was “quite difficult to look for white hair right on the white snow.†The snow tracks left by the creature were about 3 feet long and 2 feet wide. He claimed the snow fell so hard that by the time he came back to take pictures of the them, they were gone. The Yeti –also known as the Abominable Snowman– is an ape like cryptid allegedly inhabiting the Himalayas. In the past, there have been reports from Nepal and Tibet, claiming to have seen the creature and even interacted with it. This is the first Yeti sighting reported in the state of Maine. Update: Further research indicated that this sighting could not be corroborated and at this point we believe it should not be investigated. Drew
It cold! really, really cold! If Bigfoot were to exist, how could it survive these temperatures without clothing, shelter or fire? Not plausible IMO. That's one of the reasons why I'm surprised to find the existence of a southern skunk ape more plausible than a northern sasquatch. What do you think? Do you have a plausible hypothesis that explains how Bigfoot survives extreme weather? Giganto, you are on to something here. I can see Bigfoot surviving the winter, however, I would think a few would succumb to the cold, and be discovered. Just like any other cold weather mammal, severe winters lead to higher mortality rates. Their carcasses freeze and are not discovered until the spring thaw. No, not all of them have to die during a severe winter, but at least MORE of them would. And this would make them more likely to be discovered. But it didn't happen. Guest DWA
Well, for one thing: we don't know whether it has happened or not. Given the way this subject is treated, who would feel obligated to get caught up in the societal circus when now, they know? I wouldn't. For another thing: given postulated numbers for these animals, such a find simply isn't something to expect or bet on. One can't rule it out just because a carcass hasn't been (1) reported and (2) brought to the society's attention. Neither of these equate to "found by somebody."
