norseman Posted July 11, 2014 Admin Share Posted July 11, 2014 Iam not saying that the NAWAC couldn't be mistaken in their belief that wood apes live at area x? But I will say that a drug lord grandiose scheme of Bigfoot pestering people away from illicit activities is craziness.it doesn't logically do what it's intended purpose is. Instead it draws guys with guns into the area that wouldn't normally be there!
masterbarber Posted July 11, 2014 Admin Share Posted July 11, 2014 Who says it's a grandiose scheme? Hurling rocks, tipping over trees, making noises? Has anyone on that team captured a BF on video or still photos? That would be awesome! As it sits, WE, the readers, have no idea what is or what is not happening out there. We only "know" what we're being told and my position is that all possible explanations be entertained. Have we seen anything that would negate and/or rule out human involvement in this alleged activity in that area?
norseman Posted July 11, 2014 Admin Share Posted July 11, 2014 What about the sightings? What about the shootings? Your telling me that the henchman of a drug lord are dressing up in ape costumes and allowing themselves to be shot at?
masterbarber Posted July 11, 2014 Admin Share Posted July 11, 2014 I'm not telling you anything, including that a band of merry BF are in that particular area creating havoc. I'm saying "Consider alternative possibilities" because there has been no tangible evidence presented. That's all.
Drew
There are credible reports of Drug Cartel members in the area, so unless you have boots on the ground and have scientific evidence to outweigh the reports of credible witnesses, then I don't think your claims outweigh the witnesses who have seen them. WSA
All the NAWAC has to offer me is their credibility when they relate the details of encounters, absent something more substantial down the road. I frankly don't have any personal investment in their outcome. I can't reasonably impose any timetable or arbitrary deadline requirements on their work. If they fail, I don't fail. If they succeed, we all win. I wish them a safe and fruitful search.
Drew
My main question is, why don't they load M80's into the slingshot and launch those up on the hillside?
See-Te-Cah NC
All the NAWAC has to offer me is their credibility when they relate the details of encounters, absent something more substantial down the road. I frankly don't have any personal investment in their outcome. I can't reasonably impose any timetable or arbitrary deadline requirements on their work. If they fail, I don't fail. If they succeed, we all win. I wish them a safe and fruitful search. I wish them well, too. Credibility is fine, but you eventually have to pony up the evidence. "The check's in the mail" seems to be all that accompanies the claims. How long has it been, now? Numerous observations of accounts without accompanying evidence. Credibility is earned by presenting information that is easily confirmed by examining the validity of one's claims. Without anything but accounts of observations, there's not much to base the credibility of an organization on. To me, that's reminiscent of forming a theory and then attempting to fill in the blanks to support it as you go. Science doesn't work that way. There has to be supporting evidence to form a hypothesis based on established facts. Having said this, it would be great if the NAWAC were to put forth evidence of their claims to prove me wrong and render my doubts as popycock. Smokey the bear, yes, perhaps at first, then I think the National Guard would be called out. Yikes!

'Drug cartel members' COULD be replaced with something.....squatchier, in an attempt to argue the opposite point. Just saying. I'm in no way disputing the presence of said 'cartels' but I would imagine that they would take a more...direct approach to removing prying eyes. I'm certain that I know which of the two I would rather run into....alone......in the deep, dark woods. It is a shame that the members of such an organisation would be unlikely to recount any experiences (or not) while tending their crops. Sounds like the outline for a terrible straight to DVD movie though.

We only "know" what we're being told and my position is that all possible explanations be entertained. Have we seen anything that would negate and/or rule out human involvement in this alleged activity in that area? Well, we have the guys who are actually there speaking openly and frankly about what they have seen. They are educated professionals and don't seem like loons to me. I'm thinking specifically about the incident recounted in the BFS involving a nearly successful headshot on a putative wood ape in X. Personally, if the guys on the ground tell me that they are certain there are no people joking around ( some joke by the way, the pranksters could end up in a box...) then I will give them the benefit of the doubt as a perfectly reasonable explanation (to me in any case!). That doesn't mean wood apes are the only option either. I fundamentally disagree with the 'all possible explanations' viewpoint: clearly there are a limited number of potential explanations, one of which is that wood apes ARE present. There comes a point when even the most perennial fence sitter must make at least a move to one side or t'other. A gang of Mexicans off their faces and dressing up as sasquatch is more ludicrous than an undocumented primate IMO.
