of it do you spend/gift on BF research and how understanding that 1% of the cash received would be about $9M depending on where you live?

If I was on the receiving end of such a deal  ?    ---     I would contract to share partial rights/ownership ( sponsor 60% / myself 40% ) of any footage and or audio collected.   The annual contract would also obligate me to be out in the field a minimum of 162 days a year conducting research and additionally hours at home to sift through and compose the data into a viewing format for the public.

If I was in the position of being able to sponsor ?  ---    I would commit a yearly contract with a select group of serious field researchers I have worked with in the past few years.  This contract ( including time commitment details ) would provide 62 K a year per person as salary, under a contract to share partial rights/ownership ( sponsor 60% / contracted 40% ) of any footage and or audio collected..  This would contract up to 16 individuals for a potential of 45 year study at the cost of around 45 million.

I would buy a small Navy, and a central base of operations, and a couple of float planes, kidnap Huntster as a guide, and start patrolling the inland fjords and water ways of SE Alaska.

100 million should cover it!

When not chasing the elusive beast there would be copius amounts of fresh seafood beach parties served with cold beer and warm butter. And lots of hunting and fishing to boot.....

I’d buy a premium membership here at the BFF and hope to at least double the amount of time I spend drinking beer in the woods.   :D :drinks:

I think Sasquatch would jump up my “things to do” list with that kind of money.

Not overly sure I’d want to establish species recognition though to be honest (I have days both for and against, this is just one of the against), not certain that would be a good thing for them however as I don’t trust people, especially those with powers.

Would spend a hell of a lot of time in the PNW though ;)

Would also spend a tonne of money and get the SSR in the best shape of its young life.

Oh and the BFF would never have to worry about premium membership funding its

existence ever again ;)

Mine would be very similar but I'd probably focus on areas outside of the PNW. I know of good places that are not as vast as the PNW forests. I'd focus on the big rivers and tributaries with riparian forest tracts,

There'd be a crew of people paid to double check every SSR entry for accuracy (to correct my mistakes) and funding for groups to establish their own sightings databases, so they can get added to the SSR.

oh and this... If I had a million dollars

We just doubled the odds, Norse! That would be my plan almost exactly. We would explore the southern Alexander Archipeligo in a nice, big yacht year round, and Bigfoot Forum hunters would fly in on chartered float planes as their time allowed for cheap blacktail deer, black bear, and sasquatch mixed bag hunts. Salmon, halibut, and rockfish fishing and butter clam beach parties would round out the events.

Everybody who boards would would be required to sign non-disclosure agreements and agree to gift the one and only bagged sasquatch to Dr. Meldrum. I would arrange the carcass smuggling.

I’d set up a Bigfoot trust. Then I would buy a nice bit of property in my squatching area, I’d hire a 5-6 man team to full time research...people with “certain skills”. Use the trust to fund the effort indefinitely...lots of fun tools you can put into a trust.

I would hire a full time PR/social network specialist to publicize and gain outside sponsorship and run the outreach program at schools and plan “mini camps” so the next generation of squatchers can learn techniques and practice them.

All team members would learn videography and every active “on the job” moment would be recorded via body cam...even booger picking. A weekly update would be posted publicly for internet folks to critique.

We we would have all the cool toys. Like custom off-road rigs designed for three men crews...one driver, one navigator/vehicle commander, one in back controlling the dedicated drone each vehicle would have, managing the communications, and controlling the pan/tilt thermal imager mounted on an extendable boom on the roof as well as audio recordings. All vehicles would be networked via live 3D mapping.  Of course I would have to have a dedicated software suite designed so any team member could log into any vehicle or device for observation. It would also have to have an advanced “facial recognition” capability that was tuned to identify animals based on unique identifiers.  Their movements would be logged each time they are observed.

Develop an air droppable game camera system that can be retrieved by drone.

A couple “command center RV’s” used as mobile command centers with all of the above as well as critical supplies, such as a cooler, hammock and BBQ.  Maybe fishing poles for “undercover work”.

Every team member would would have a thermal goggle setup.  That was networked...think Space Marines in “Aliens”.

There would also also be a large stable of all electric UTV’s...of course a “Choppa” to drop folks off for overnight observations and to deliver supplies to long term teams.

A drone blimp?  The blimp would be used for its long on station/linger time as an airborne communications hub between teams and “eye in the sky” platform to observe/coordinate teams. Nah...that’s too far fetched.

Of course, I would not use a mere 1%...it would be closer to 30-50%.  I’m pretty sure I could eek out a Living on the rest.

Is there any money left? If so I’d have matching jackets made.

Wow Caenus, this obviously isn’t the first time this has crossed your mind. Like the dedication and planning.

Well, when I spend enough time staring through a spotting scope or night vision and trying to come up with strategies...some times my mind goes waaaaaay down the rabbit hole.  Lol.

I wonder what it would cost to do a thorough search of the fossils that have already been collected but not identified? Would it be worth the effort? With enough money to "grease the wheels" could access be gained to look at university or museum storage. You might be able to enlist grad students with the right incentives.

Just wondering

Not worth it. If you want to prove existence, somebody has to shoot a living creature.

Caenus, how do your eyes react to your NV gear? Monocular or binocular?  How is your near field depth perception?
