CTYeti Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Hello, new member here from CT. Moved to a very rural area in 2019, and coincidentally came across videos on youtube discussing the PG film, which I always suspected was not real up until that point. Upon looking further into it, realized there are so many credible people reporting sightings that this cannot be a hoax, and the last 5 years Ive completely changed my outlook on this subject (a subject Id never given a second thought before 2019). I think it is just an incredible topic, and there is something alluring about an undiscovered species as significant as Sasquatch. I do not share this interest with many people in my life and when I do its mostly tongue in cheek. In New England it seems to be pretty taboo overall. Anyway, I travel the 7 states of New England for work and am looking at sighting reports to see if I pass by any places regularly, but there is not much on the BFRO in CT, MA, RI etc. I look forward to reading reports as I find them fascinating, and hopefully some day have one to share with you all. Thanks!
Catmandoo Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Greetings CTYeti, you have arrived at the correct location. A good site to bookmark is http://www.bigfootencounters.com/ . It is not active since the founder passed but is full of interesting details. Go to sightings > State by State sightings list and you will find NE info. Download Bobby Short's books in PDF form. On this site, go to Bigfoot Discussion > Sightings > Northeast and also go to Bigfoot Discussion > SSR Stats and Analysis > SSR Open Dataset. Good luck.
AustinWade Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Hello I’m Austin, been interested in the strange and paranormal since I can remember and Bigfoot has always been the one I said I’ll find him. Ron morehead and the sierra sounds got me hooked…I found the mountain that they are on and the paths they took...just to scared to do alone lol.Moved from Florida so new to Idaho and gotta make some friends to go looking for Bigfoot would be awesome. 1
Bert6266 Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Im almost 50 years old...good Lord where does it go?I guess you could say I'm kind of a woods rat. Love the woods. I grew up playing in them...just me at the age of 4 or 5, 3 German Shepherds and one crazy bird dog. Sad that a kid can't really go into the woods by themselves anymore. The woods have always been a special place for me, but signing a scholarship to play football in college kept me busy. Then after college came moving to different cities. I wasn't able to really "get to the woods." I fished and hunted a little...shot guns, but it wasn't until 2010 that I found myself about 2 miles back in the woods following "tree structures" that at first I thought was a joke being played on me...but after going that far back? Those guys wouldn't have gone to that much trouble plus, they wouldn't have any idea of which direction I'd end up going. So, long story short I was invited to attend a "Bigfoot Outing" at the mans house where i followed the structures. This was a game changer for me. I had always thought these creatures are all out west like in Northern California, Washington State..Canadian Rockies, I was wrong! I met Mike Mclain that night and this "About Me" is getting really long. Footprints, hairs, hand prints, structures in the woods that aren't man made or dead fall, audio....for some reason the audio is what I've always been interested in and that's because of Mr. McLain. I joined this forum a long time ago from the recommendation of Bill White who passed away in 2022. I can't wait to learn more!
KiBra7 Posted January 19 Posted January 19 I'm a human interested in sasquatch. I'm here to learn. That's it. That's my introduction.
W. Summerville Posted January 22 Posted January 22 I am here as a new member from Northeast Georgia. I am here to learn, and hopefully to gather some more information beyond the typical things that I have gathered just upon recent research. I'm highly intrigued. That's my introduction.
Jakers Posted January 24 Posted January 24 I’m jake, I’m from the UK and have taken a special interest in the subject after becoming semi addicted to Bob Gymlan’s chilled voice and video style lol, it grew from there.
Tonita Posted January 26 Posted January 26 New Member I’m Tonita, have always been interested in paranormal and have been intrigued by Bigfoot for decades. I haven’t had any sightings but I live in Northwest Georgia close to Battlefield and lots of woods so I’m keeping my eyes open. Cannot wait to learn about others experiences
OkieFoot Posted January 26 Moderator Posted January 26 Welcome KiBra7, W. Summerville, Jakers, from the UK, and Tonita.
Eurydice Posted January 28 Posted January 28 My fascination began three years ago when the YouTube algorithm suggested a short video of a man retelling his encounter. It had occurred in the Porcupine Mountains, in the upper peninsula of Michigan, the same summer that my husband and I visited there. He explained that leading up to his sighting, he felt an overwhelming sense of unease as though he were being watched. This characteristic was something I experienced very often playing in the woods around my childhood home. I always thought I was just being a scared little kid. Listening to more encounters introduced me to even more oddities that were common among Bigfoot habitats. More and more added up and now I know the secret those woods held.
Wolfjewel Posted January 28 Posted January 28 @Eurydice your experiences sound fascinating. Will you share them with the forum? I will be “all ears” if you do. Actually, if reading something is it “all eyes”? 1
