bipedalist Posted July 26, 2011 BFF Patron Posted July 26, 2011 Wow Bp you must be really old ... Yah, old pro... On a sad note old enough to have outlived some that accompanied me on that adventure.
Guest nona Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 What is that? My initial impression was a squirrel or maybe a young raccoon but the ears are throwing me off.
Guest tracker Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 What is that? My initial impression was a squirrel or maybe a young raccoon but the ears are throwing me off. Anyone want to take a guess?
Guest tracker Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Booth Lake named after the J.R Booth lumber Barron. He provide all the lumber to build our Parliament buildings in Ottawa. He built a railway line right inside the park to do it. I've been several times to that site. You can still see the old foundations . http://24369.vws.magma.ca/connect/research/local/booth_e.html Annie Bay is next
mesabe Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 My first impression of the animal in the tree is a marten. But due to the darkness of the photo, it could possibly be a grey fox or young bobcat. Hard to say without seeing the tail end. Good thread as always Tracker, hope to see more excellent photos too. I hope your son inherited your photogenic eye. Thanks for sharing.
Guest vilnoori Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Anyone want to take a guess? Looks weaselly to me, maybe an American Marten? Those cat-like ears and dark feet... Great pic, if so, they are hard to photograph!
bipedalist Posted July 26, 2011 BFF Patron Posted July 26, 2011 Hint: it's on a tree limb. Think some people are very warm on this one. NOT in the direction of BF sock puppet with eyeshine though, lol.
bipedalist Posted July 27, 2011 BFF Patron Posted July 27, 2011 Cute little bugger, good climber and curious too!
Guest tracker Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Sure looks like a fox but......? Is this it? Sorry Charlie
gigantor Posted July 27, 2011 Admin Posted July 27, 2011 hey Tracker, Awesome pics! did you take those yourself?
gigantor Posted July 27, 2011 Admin Posted July 27, 2011 (edited) I'm asking because I want to ask you for permission to use some of these pics elsewhere. But when I right-click on the pics and choose "view image info", each pic points to a different website. For example, this pic you posted points to: www.markinthepark.com after yesterday long hard day nature has it's own rewards. Okay here's big Crow lake stage 2 and day 2 of their journey. But then this pic you also posted points to: donkers.ca/martin/a2006a Being awakened by pesky Raven alarm clocks in time to see morning fog on the lake. And then this pic points to: http://www.algonquinadventures.com/PCI/lakes/BigCrow/images A nice site for a larger group and so on... Edited July 27, 2011 by gigantor 1
